Loved it! The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food (both breakfast and dinner) were so delicious with a lot of options, the rooms are simple but we didnt need much - we went for a 5 day skiing trip and wanted an affordable place yet close to the Olympe gondola, leading right into Meribel. The hotel is about 7min walk to the gondola, therefore perfect! Brides Les Bain does not have a lot of going out/restaurant options, so some nights we stayed at Athena for dinner… great choice, cause we loved it! We are vegetarians, and the hotel accommodated so well to that. They even prepared an off-the-menu meal for us! Breakfast is excellent, hotel facilities are very clean, staff is extremely helpful and friendly… I highly recommend!

The hotel is an excellent 3 star. Relatively basic but very clean and everyone extremely friendly. The small spa is wonderful after a day on the slopes. There's a bus that takes you up to the gondola and back every day which saved us having to hire lockers. We were half board and my only issue was there was no choice for dinner (although they were very accommodating toward my 7 year old daughter). Having said that the quality was excellent.

Had a nice stay at the Hotel Athena. Nothing fancy but functional. Not very accessible to main mountain at Val Thorens but they have a gondola very close in town that takes you to Meribel, one of the mountains. From there, you can access the 3 Valleys.

The car park is quite small, with two areas, one under cover for 5 cars and one open air up a steep ramp for 4-5 cars.
The hotel has very pleasant staff who speak good english. We checked in at midday (a bit early but they allowed it) and the room was a bit cool so we increased the temperature on the thermostat and when we returned later it was toasty warm.
The bath is full size (1700mm) and there was plenty of hot water in the evening.
Having a separate toilet was convenient in the family room.
The children slept in a separate room within the suite which had bunk beds and they loved it.
We had breakfast which had 3 different types of cereal, different bread and a toaster, a fridge of yogurts and plenty of fruit, the usual croissants and pain au chocolat, a coffee machine which also did hot chocolate, and egg boiler and fresh orange and apple juice.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and we would definitely return.

Lovely location right my the river my room looked out onto river. Good size room and friendly size. Beware if staying in summer my room had no air con or fan and river lovely but rather noisy. Also leaving door open doesn’t do much when warm not sure if all rooms are like this . So quite a hot room in summer. If you go for half board option dinner was good. All in all a lovely hotel but a fan would be a great addition to room I stayed in.

Ideal location for access to the surrounding area. We found the hotel to be acceptable in most respects for the amount paid. The Staff were effective and very helpful. The food was limited, but well cooked.
The river running by the bedroom window was very loud, and this did effect the quality of sleep achieved (had to buy earplugs for the second night).
The hotel is used for wellness, and at the time of our visit there were approximately 12 persons attending. Which we found this interesting.

The hotel Athena was excellent. The service from the staff was great, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was as good a you will get, great continental selection but also hot food available, eggs bacon sausage. The only negative I could find was no free wifi in the rooms, it was however available free in the lobby. Many thanks to all at the hotel Athena.

Hotel is basic but comfortable. The spa is very nice. Dinner is hit and miss. Two very nice meals two not so great on the half board option. Breakfast was good but they need to replenish the scrambled eggs and the pain au chocolat.
Overall good value for money. I would return.

Enjoyed the stay. Friendly attentive staff. Bath(shower)room was small, separate toilet. Drinks prices at meals very reasonable (€12.5 for litre of red wine). From the "menu" meals, most main courses had only two elements. However, with a cheese course as well, I wasn't still hungry after the meals. Breakfast was quite good, good coffee etc machine. Cooked sausage, bacon and scrambled egg, though one day the egg was cold and sausages weren't fully cooked. There were, though, plenty of croissants, pain au chocolat, pain au raisin and lots of other stuff, fruit, cold meats, cheese, breads.

Nice, small hotel, friensly staff, rooms quite basic though. Beds quality not very good. Didn't seem to be a 3 star hotel. We only been there for 2 nights and it serve the purpose. I Don't think we would book it if stayed longer.
