Nice hotel right on the Rhine waterfront. Rooms are compact but comfortable. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is an extra but would highly recommend, a great spread served with a friendly smile.
Owner Scott was wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful when one of our party took a tumble on the street and needed a trip to emergency. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there.

My sister and I stayed here 6 nights. We were a bit reluctant about what the rooms or service might be due to the reasonable price for our stay. WOW, we were jumping for joy. Friendly reception, fast elevator, super clean rooms and wow what a view! Waking up to that river view while enjoying coffee and tea each morning was heavenly for us. We’d been in Europe for 2 weeks prior and were exhausted from all our adventures. This sweet Gunther hotel was our savior in learning to just relax and take a big breath. Quiet little town. With the boats a few yards away to carry us up or down river, a bike rental around the corner, the hotel next door has an outdoor area where we enjoyed cocktails and a great little market just two blocks up to the Main Street. We had everything we needed. Breakfast was good, (but I missed having bacon), but we enjoyed starting each day fully nourished. I do want to visit again. This place felt like home away from home. Just for reference, the train station you want is not the first one that says “Boppard”. Get off at HBF Boppard I believe.

Very good central location in Boppard at the river from near the central square and KD boat landing.
There are two kinds of rooms with a balcony and a river view, I recommend getting the larger one, if available — it is worth the price difference. (Although the smaller ones are quite fine, too).
The breakfast is ok - same as in other similar hotels, maybe a little less selection.
Friendly and helpful staff
(Don’t forget to make special arrangements if arriving after 9pm)

A great hotel to explore Boppard and the surrounding areas and towns. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful, and the location very convenient, as well as lovely, on the Rhine. My only warning would be, if you are a light/complex sleeper, the pillows and beds are uncomfortable and small. Typical of a small hotel like this one, but it is something to keep in mind. Other than that, it was good.

Overall, a great experience. The staff were all wonderful, and helped/suffered an English-heavy traveller like me. Boppard is a nice small town with welcoming people and some great restaurants. The breakfast at garni Günther was a decent buffet spread. Same thing every morning, but the amount of options available was commendable. The only issue I encountered was no hot water in the shower for a couple days, but they fixed ASAP as soon as they knew about it. A short commute by regional rail or bus to Koblenz, which is wild during Karneval, but has great shopping and restaurants for tourists.
The view at garni Günther from the second floor balcony down the Rhein was spectacular. Room was spacious, (by Europe standards) bathroom was not (but that is Europe hotels in general). Cleaned and straightened every day. Tons of shelf/cupboard space. Really appreciated the kind service with the hotel staff. Would recommend for tourists, solo travelers and couples/families for getaways or low-key holiday.

This was an awesome hotel to stay at. It is right on the river across from where the KD river boats dock. The rooms have a great balcony overlooking the river. The breakfast is excellent and the staff is very friendly. Several of them speak excellent English. This is a very typical German style hotel. The rooms were nice. If you want to stay in a convenient town on the Rhine River than this hotel in Boppard is a great choice. I would definitely stay here again. The town and the hotel are excellent.

Hotel is in a good position with rooms that overlook the beautiful Rhine river. Our room was nice and quiet but was very small with a toilet separate to the bathroom which was not ideal for hand washing. The carpet was stained and the chairs in the room had no spring left in the seats and looked grubby. Breakfast was good but small things like extra serviettes and a bottle of help yourself chilled water and help yourself juice, we’re lacking. We were satisfied overall, given the price, but would suggest giving the carpet a wash and changing the chairs.

The hotel is family owned and operated and the family member behind the front counter was very helpful and professional. She went out of her way to make sure we had everything we needed. We recommend this hotel.

I stayed for 4 nights in April in one of the rooms with a balcony overlooking the Rhein. The room was basic but large and comfortable with an ensuite bathroom including a bath. But the reason for choosing this room was the view and it certainly didn't disappoint - fantastic. Obviously well situated on the front the hotel also offered breakfast which again came with a view and was typically German. Staff were attentive and helpful. Only slight problem was the temperamental WiFi but that's not really an issue. Overall excellent and would definitely stay again and recommend.
