Great little hotel offering all the essentials in the middle of Nauplio old-town. - historic location; the bottom of the staircase is the place where Ioannis Kapodistrias was assassinated in 1831 (you can see bullet hole still) - decent breakfast - spacious rooms - nice outdoor areas - decent air-con - it’s got an air of shabby chic to it - sort of matches Nauplio in my mind Be aware - lots of cats in Nauplio so shut your windows when you go out. We got back from Mycenae and one of the little sods had crapped in the (hard wood floored) bedroom!

Great location and wonderful view. We loved having breakfast on the terrace. The staff was friendly and helpful. Quaint and quiet with an old-world feel. We used this as a base to explore some of the ancient sites in the region. We didn’t mind parking by the harbor and walking up.

This is an old historic hotel, though there has clearly been some renovation. It is on the upper edge of Nafplio's Old Town, so you are within a few minutes' walk of many shops and restaurants, but a little quieter than on the main streets. It is also a very short walk to the beach on the other side of the peninsula. Our room was pastel-colored with high ceilings and exposed beams, and we were very comfortable there. Breakfast was an extra charge, so we went into town instead. They do have a little bar in the hotel, and we sat on the patio one night with drinks and it was very pleasant. Parking is at the municipal lot which is not far, but is a bit crowded; there is almost no parking in Old Town, so I think this is pretty typical. We really enjoyed Nafplio and the surrounding area, and our stay at the Byron was definitely a part of that. Highly recommended.

Charming historical building in a superb location, far from the madding crowd that tend to flock to Nafplio. Super staff, friendly and helpful: old fashioned service. The hotel is up some steps and thence more steps to you room. Well worth the climb: be sure to get a room with a view.

I thoroughly enjoyed Byron Hotel. My single room was comfortable and cozy despite snow on Peloponnese hilltops nearby. Quick 5 minute walk to the bus station for Athens, Epidavros and Mycenae, as well as the stairclimb to incredible Palamidi Fortress. Balcony looks over tiled roofs to harbor below. Fridge and kettle in room with tea & coffee and a supermarket and fine bakery/sandwich (Euro 2.90 san and try the cinnamon biscotti) shop at nearby waterfront. I loved the breakfast with thick Greek yogurt to mix with muesli & honey, good coffee, boiled egg, cheese, ham and variety of breads plus fresh OJ. Great friendly staff.
