Everyone was so nice here!! I was lucky enough to have my room on the roof, so when I walked out of my room the Acropolis was in the distance! It was sooooo beautiful and I am so grateful. The cleaning lady was also so sweet and made my bed so nicely for me. The breakfast is good as well! There’s hard boiled eggs, Greek yogurt, bread, sweet bread, fruit, orange juice, jam, etc. Those might change a bit seasonally though I don’t know. It is a good location too but keep in mind it’s a busy area for if you get overstimulated. I loved my stay! Two notes for people who are a bit picky: my TV I couldn’t figure out how to turn on English closed captioning (if you can) so I wasn’t really able to watch the TV because every channel was in Greek as far as I could tell. But again I was in Greece… so I’m not complaining! I could have asked and I’m sure they would have helped me but it wasn’t a big deal for me! My other note is that the shower pressure isn’t that strong, but again I don’t really mind. These are such small things and they didn’t really matter to me but they are just things to be aware of. Overall my stay was great and I’m very pleased with the hotel. Thank you Hotel Cecil staff!!

Good location, rooms clean, the major problem I encountered was how loud everything is, let me explain… I could hear people walk by
, I could hear people from other rooms talking, one night some people were laughing so hard and talking throughout the night that I COULD NOT sleep that night , so that night was terrible. But still is a decent location, I felt safe, it was clean and cheap so if you are on a budget this is a decent choice.

We had a lovely stay here. The breakfast was a great way to start the day. The hotel is centrally located so we were able to walk to everything we wanted to see and do. It was clean. The bathroom was small, but I think that is typical.

We stayed at Cecil Hotel for one night. The room was very clean and comfortable, even a little more roomy than European standards. We only interracted with one front desk person and one cleaning technician during our stay. Both were lovely, and initiated conversation. The location really can't be beat. A quick walk to all of the areas that visitors tend to go. From our window we could see right down the main street to the Monastiraki Square with the Acropolis looking over it. I don't know that I would stay here for a stay of more than a few days. There is a refrigerator on each floor to be shared by everyone staying on that floor. Wouldn't have wanted to keep medication or anything large in it. But, not a deal breaker for our needs.

Arrived at the hotel to a warm and friendly welcome. The room wasn't modern, but was clean and comfortable. The hotel is traditional and has a historic lift still in operation which was good to see. Breakfast was offered, but limited options. The hotel is centrally located with shopping, restaurants and bars as well as all the sights within waking distance.

The hotel is very close to metro and tourist attractions - walkable. Very convenient going to and from the airport as well. Lots of restaurants, fast foods, small stores and dessert shops around. Breakfast was very good as well. Bed is comfortable and linens are clean. Bathroom needs updating specifically shower curtains. Limited power outlets, so if you have numerous gadgets it might be a challenge. Small room so two carry-on bags can't be opened at the same time with still enough space to walk on. Don't expect too much. A very good hotel for those on budget.

It is situated at 5 minutes walk from Monastiraki Square and metro station.
It is on the busy, bustling Athinas Street, which is fascinating and authentic. The hotel is quiet, spotlessly clean and secure.
The area is safe.
