Holiday Inn Express HONG KONG CAUSEWAY BAY, an IHG Hotel

Holiday Inn Express Causeway Bay, Hong Kong is a conveniently located hotel, very close to plenty of good restaurants and shopping options. We were warmly greeted by a lovely and efficient receptionist, Vivian, at check-in. The room was a good size and very clean, and housekeeping was efficient and thorough. However, we were disappointed with the breakfast experience. The staff seemed rushed and often engaged in loud, personal conversations, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable. I couldn't help but feel that the restaurant felt more like a staff room than a place to enjoy and relax. The food was lukewarm.

room was mouldy and felt damp. air-conditioning was faulty - the room was persistently humid. shower stall had mould growing and the flooring was peeling overall the room was clean with daily housekeeping, but was in dire need of refurbishment

Perfect location for restaurants, shopping, MTR

The location was good, next to causeway bay metro and time square shopping mall. Plenty of food and shopping options nearby. The room was clean, breakfast was very basic set menu of a hot beverage and croissant or egg Benedict. Overall, a decent option for a budget hotel.

Pros: Excellent Location: The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to the MTR and buses, making it a great base for getting around the city. Great Laundry Facilities: The laundry room is well-equipped with user-friendly washers and dryers, which makes handling your laundry during your stay very convenient. Cons: Safety Concern – Elevator: The elevator doors close very quickly, and the sensors do not appear to function properly. We were bumped by the doors several times. This could be dangerous, especially for children, seniors, or individuals with mobility challenges. Bathroom Design Flaw: The faucet and sink are poorly installed. The position of the tap often causes water to splash outside the sink, which is quite inconvenient. Uncomfortable Sofa Bed: We booked a room with one queen-sized bed and a convertible sofa bed. Unfortunately, the sofa bed was not comfortable. If you’re traveling with more than two people, you might consider booking two rooms for a better experience. Crowded Elevator Area: Due to limited space, the restaurant staff moved folding screens in front of the elevator doors during breakfast hours, which can cause congestion and potential safety issues as people exit the elevator. Limited Breakfast Options: Unlike many hotels that offer buffet-style breakfasts, this hotel restaurant provides limited choices. I was told the breakfast menu only changes every 7 to 10 days, which may not be ideal for longer stays.

The location is superb just directly opposite Times Square. The hotel reception is one of the best in Hong Kong that I experienced. I was served by Tiffany who is all smiles and very customer oriented. The breakfast set (4 to choose from) is average but included in the room so no complains. Rooms are dated but clean and functional with a sofa bed. The fabulous customer service (including house keeping) and good location of hotel more than made up of those short falls.

Clean and comfy I just wish everyone on staff spoke English 😱😌 Rooms and hallways are old and need some updating

Dont expect the breakfasts to be like they are in the rest of the world. Very disappointing. Set menu, very little choice for western tastes. Very good location, excellent room.

Next to the Times Square Shopping complex. In the midst of Causeway Bay, a shoopers swimming pool of choices. Transport in all direction.

The location.

Stayed in the hotel for 4 days. The room and hotel are very old and needed to be upgraded. Free breakfast included on your stay but the menu only consists of 4 different meals. Which is the same menu every day. I wish they have more choices . Location is good and walking distance to high end malls.

It needs renovation

Interior decors are about time to replace/repair. Though overall the hotel is clean.

Location was great next to Times Square and MRT enterence. Breakfast was terrible and not worth going to at 1/10.

Breakfast choices were not very good. Would much prefer a buffet like in the USA.
