Lovely place. New, clean and very friendly. But building work outside, which is not the hotels fault, but made it quite noisy. We booked a balcony room but had to move because of the noise to the other side of the hotel and we didn't get a balcony.

Hotel staff was very friendly, caring and helpful. Room was large, clean and comfortable. Lots of little touches to make the stay more memorable, like the welcome with flower garland, tika and drink and the flower art in our room. Breakfast buffet was excellent. Great fitness center with well working equipment. Surprisingly good place in Chennai, an oasis, especially given the noisy, polluted OMR location

The Taj offers the best experience I have ever had in any hotel in my 51 years on earth. The service was impeccable from the time you go through the parking lot gate to the front desk where everyone in staff greets you as if you are the most important person in the building. The food in the restaurant is amazing as well as the staff.
By the time I left today people were calling me by my first name.
Currently the only issue is the construction out front has caused the street to be full of noisy traffic. The manager has assured me that they are soundproofing the street side balconies to better manage the noise.
I plant to return to India next month and the Taj will babe my only choice for places to stay.
