Garda House

The apartment is in a great location with easy key box access, Wi-Fi, warm water, and a spacious layout. The kitchen is nice but lacks basic dishes and pans. The two double bed mattresses were adequate but not comfortable. The sleeper sofa was unusable, no sheets or blankets, and the pad was badly soiled. The whole place needs a deep clean. Only two kitchen chairs for a family of four, and not enough towels (those provided were thin and had holes). I contacted the property about missing bedding but got no response even after 2 emails and 1 WhatsApp. With better upkeep, bedding and communication, this could be a solid stay. I would have booked elsewhere had I known.

The property manager was wasn't the nicest person. Our key codes for each apartment was mixed up. Difficult to find the property. The apartment was nice, but could hear footstep from apartment above. Main reason l chose the apartment was for the washing machine, only to be told it can't be used. Washing machine & tv didn't work.

Great location. And that’s where it ends. We checked ourselves in to find a very dirty apartment- sticky and dirty floors, a sofa bed and extra blanket that smelled of urine, non-working appliances and threadbare towels. The property manager is only on duty until 6 pm, so we didn’t receive assistance until the next day at 9 am. The apartment was deep cleaned the next day. It should have never been rented in that condition. And no offer to compensate us.

Location was great, beds not the most comfortable. Coffee supplied with basic glasses/dishes. Hot shower was great! Nice sitting area to relax with friends

Great location. Place was clean. Unfortunately the washer didn’t work and was told it wasn’t a current option to use The property manager only communicates through WhatsApp which you don’t know until he doesn’t reply to any emails and you finally call and it’s on his voicemail. He was very attentive once we communicated via WhatsApp. Download the app and don’t expect to use wash machine and after that you have a great place to stay. Our unit did have small steps to go up and down to get into the place.

We had an amazing stay in Kinsale at Garda House. The accommodations were everything we needed to feel at home away from home.

Grand apartment in a central location.

We loved the clean, updated modern house. We wished there was a lock box w/ key to check in instead of having to coordinate a time w/ the host because our phones did not work internationally. The property manager/host was very kind and helpful though! We would stay here again.

Garda House was a lovely place to stay in Kinsale - our host did a great job of meeting us and getting us settled and knowing where everything was. We had the downstairs unit - The two bedrooms were neat and clean and the common area was just right, and the bathroom was modern and clean (though a little small). Plus having parking in a lot immediately connected to the back of the unit was great for loading and unloading, as parking is a premium in this area due to narrow streets. Only drawbacks: the wifi never worked properly for us, and the washer/dryer was temporarily out of commission and we were planning on using it. And we could hear the upstairs people late into the night. But if the wifi was working, I'd totally stay here again - it's right in town and an easy walk to anywhere!

Fantastic location in the heart of Kinsale. The apartment was updated to the highest specifications. Would definitely stay at the Garda House again.

Great location and good for longer stay but so overpriced! Woman managing the property was rude and shouted at us when we told her we wanted to check in at 17.15! Apparently she had three other properties to manage that took priority. Not the irish way I’m afraid, very inappropriate behaviour and not what you expect in a tourist town. Apartment was clean but open food packets from previous guests and used hand soap in bathroom. Plenty of nicer places to stay in Kinsale with amazing customer service!
