Basic, clean room, but also there was enough space for 1 person to leave large luggage open while still have space to move around, so that was nice. The communal bath was also nice. I appreciated the complimentary ice cream after having a bath. They also have a vending machine with nice cold bottled milk and coffee milk, would recommend buying after your nice hot bath as well! They also had a Japanese manga library where you could borrow up to 5 to read in your room, so that was also pretty neat. Would consider staying again if I'm in the area.

I’ve stayed at several Dormy Inns across Japan; it’s my go-to hotel. Akihabara’s is in a very good location: close to a major station and lots of shopping but not directly on top of either. The property and room layout is different from all other Dormys, so I imagine it was repurposed from a previous owner. The bathroom and the kitchen area are rather strange. It’s a less comforting setup, feels older. But the bed is still nice and we enjoyed our stay. The lobby is quite small but with only 7 floors of guest rooms it wasn’t a problem. Staff was friendly and helpful. The on-property onsen - a major reason I’m a Dormy fan - was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately, I used it too late to hop in the sauna, but the outdoor bathing area is breathtaking! The Ikebukuro Dormy Inn location is still my favorite, but I much prefer Akihabara’s to the Ueno location. Again, the rooms are slightly odd/old-feeling, but I’ll happily stay again (and for longer).

We like the style of Dormy Inns. This one was ok though. The breakfast was great. The Onsen good although the glass windows need a good clean! The mattress was getting old and the pillows awfully hard. I guess the place is getting dated and needs a revamp! YMMV

It's one of the best places to stay for solo travellers. The rooms are small, but have comfortable beds, good air conditioning and everything else needed. But then you also get the onsen area which is open all night (1am for the sauna), so you can get back late and relax before going to sleep. Free late night ramen, free drinks, ice creams, place to wash clothes while in the baths, etc.
