Highland Resort Hotel & Spa

The buffet for breakfast and dinner were amazing and is set on the fourth floor with stunning views of Mt. Fuji on one side and the Fuji-Q amusement park on the other. Lots of food options, too. We had dinner there with friends our first night and were impressed that the steak, sushi, stew and other Japanese dishes were as good as any we had in Japan. Meanwhile, the pizza had the slightly charred but still soft crust we love. At breakfast, they had mini pancakes, made-to-order omelettes and plenty of traditional Japanese dishes. Our room was the most spacious we experienced in Japan (not like a room in the U.S. but big for Japan) and had a stunning view of Mount Fuji. The resort is literally at the foot of the mountain so it looms large outside the window. My wife and her sisters loved the on-site onsen, which is segregated by gender (full nudity only - no clothing allowed as per the Japanese custom). It was cool, too, that the hotel opens onto the entrance to the amusement park, which is linked with a couple cool France-themed gift shops and cafes. The coffee and pastries were just as good as we've had in Paris despite being at a somewhat kitschy theme park. The place is just fun and set in an area of amazing beauty - and even has a bus station on-site where you can schedule transportation with all your luggage to major spots in Tokyo and other cities with Shinkansen connections. Staff was wonderful. All positives.

Highly recommend. A convenient location, great food, many amenities, and attentive staff. We used both the private and public onsen but ran out of time for the spa. There are great views of Mt Fuji. Thank you, Highland Resort. We appreciate your care.

Friendly and very professional staff. Always attentive and ready to help us. Nice and quiet atmosphere despite it is located to the amusement park.

The room was very large by Japanese standards and very comfortable. The onsen was very good. I definitely recommend all except the Macaroni restaurant which is my only complaint. Service here was exremely slow and arrived at the table randomly, and the food was okay but not worth it.

Lovely resort right next to Fuji-q. Also public transportation from here was convenient.

I absolutely enjoyed our stay here! The view of Mount Fuji from the resort was amazing - both from the resort entrance and the room we got with a view. There is also a free shuttle bus right outside the entrance that brings you to various places including the main sightseeing sites. A short walk out of the resort grounds brings you to many shops like Family Mart, Daiso, Donki and variety of restaurants. The hotel is well kept and is a lovely place with a big, spacious room. There is also bus station where the bus stops right next to the resort, making it very convenient and easy to move around. There is also an exciting theme park behind with some really big rollercoasters and a little Paris themed park that is great for walks.

This is the second time my family has stayed at Highland Resorts and it has been a pleasure to stay here. It's located right near Fuji-Q park, shuttle bus to areas within Fujiyoshida, walking distance to Don Quixote/ Komeda Coffee/ Book-off among a bunch of other places. I highly recommend for a pleasant stay in the area to book with Highland Resort. We look forward to our next visit again. Thank you!

The hotel is convenient and easy to get buses from/to. As the weather was terrible and we had come to see Mt Fuji this did not help. The rtoms are old and dated and need to be made more

Absolutely adored this property, highly recommend booking a Mountain View room. There is also a shuttle to take you to areas you want to be in which is nice. Very clean, enjoyed the onsen as well! A great place to take a break from the bustling city.

This was an incredible hotel with amazing views of Mt. Fuji. The service was top notch and the room was equipped with excellent amenities as well as courtesies. The spa was also an absolute delight.

My favorite hotel that I have stayed at in Japan. We only stayed one night, but I wish we could have stayed longer. I would love to come back here on a return trip

A little expensive but well worth the price! Would definitely stay here again.
