Beautiful hotel high on a hill above Miyanoura Port. Even higher on the property, the Sunset Terrace for drinks. Our room was extremely nice, two twin beds, a desk, loveseat, balcony with table and two chairs, bathroom with a tub, shower, standard bidet toilet, etc. Our reservation included dinner (that night, paella plus various appetizers and dessert) and breakfast (choice of western or Japanese). Shoes off policy on our area of rooms (lockers at bottom of stairs, slippers to wear from there).

We stayed one night in the Oak Tree House, it was lovely. We had both breakfast and dinner at the Lodge's restaurant and they both wonderful. The staff was very responsive and helpful before and during our stay. This is a very convenient spot if you are not staying at one of the museum's accommodations (with a little bit of hiking up the hill to the lodge). We stored our luggage at the Naoshima Tours, they offered the service to deliver and pick-up luggage to and from the lodge so we can go about our museums run without having to worry about that. The operation was seamless.

There is a check in at the port, it is confusing to find the check in desk. We had nice help at the desk generally but the person there does not always speak English and will call someone to help. We reserved breakfast and were very disappointed, the sausage cold, the hash brown potato cold and undercooked, the yogurt was a very small amount. Our room was lovely and clean , the bed too soft though. We were not in the main lodge so if we had questions we had to walk from our building, there is no phone or reception other than at the restaurant. We had our luggage delivered from another hotel but not to our room. The expectation was we were to take our luggage in the rain , down a hill walking. After a discussion it was delivered but this was poor service in my opinion. We had a harbor terrace room , so disappointing to be told not to space on the terrace after 8:00 pm due to children next door, this hampered our enjoyment of using the terrace.

Beautiful location but be prepared for a manageable hike uphill.Breakfasts were delicious- including 7nlim8ted free coffee and juice. Very nice. Loved this place and would highly recommend. Drop your bags off at the Plum, and for a fee they will deliver it and return to the Plum when you leave. The Plum is right across from the ferry terminal. Quite a few steps up to the room and we did not see an elevator. There is a back way in, however, that should be good. A lovely visit and wonderful stay. Thank you!

The hotel is located on a hillside not far from Miyaura Port. In the morning, rooms with balconies offer beautiful views and sunrises. Walking to the port doesn’t take long, and along the way you can see the red pumpkin and white birdcage illuminated by lights, creating a unique atmosphere in the evening. Our stay was truly heartwarming, and we wish to extend our deepest gratitude to Shimasaki-san, she went above and beyond to assist us, and her warmth and kindness left a lasting impression. We sincerely hope this kind-hearted lady, who treasures art museums yet is even more devoted to her work in hospitality, finds great success in the future.

We enjoyed the location of this little hotel. We had a corner room and were disappointed to see the windows were very dirty. The hotel might consider adding some electric candles to the dinner tables to elevate the vibe as it’s pretty utilitarian. Overall, a good value for the money. 👍
