Washington R&B Hotel Ueno Hirokoji

Overall this is a decent budget hotel…if you have considerate neighbours. I unfortunately did not. Room walls are extremely thin and if your neighbour is slamming around then you’ll hear everything. People were also gathering in the hallway to talk very late and you can hear every word. My bathroom sink smelled of rotten eggs sometimes. The room itself was nice and functional, well thought out. Unfortunately I wouldn’t return due to the noise issues. Staff at reception were lovely, always greeting me each morning and evening.

I wish they should serve other kinds of free drinks other than coffee! My desk has a weird setup where the plugs were at the sides instead on the top of the desk. Not enough electrical outlets or usb-c connections.

R&b is always great the location is great for me and reasonable price..rooms are small but clean & there is no window view but the air conditioner works well.. near Ueno and Alihabara and close to several trains this place works for me!

職員為了慳電，關上雪櫃制，但冇留意雪櫃內有冇食品，我的食品變壞了😡，執房職員有需要改善。 冷氣不足，跳掣，要去櫃檯前再restart.

Stayed here for a few days. The single room was a little small but it was fine me. The staff was really friendly and made my stay feel welcomed.

The​ hotel​ is near the​ subway easy to trip to many places, and have breakfast.

This is my 2nd time staying at R&B chain of hotel. My 1st was at sapporo hokkaido. R&B single rooms are 1 of the best in Japan. It is quiet, clean and right size. If it is non smoking room, it is truly non smoking. Although the free breakfast menu is the same every morning, it is always good to have some food in the morning, especially in winter. Pastry is fresh, coffee is strong. It is also well located in the ueno hirokoji area, with 2 mins walk to okachimachi JR station. 1 min walk to ueno hirokoji ginza line. it is also walkable to Akihabara district, ameyoko market, ueno park. Sat room price is twice that of weekdays. But most tokyo rooms rates are the same too. Its occupants are mainly salaryman or local businessman, as i can see them in office wear during breakfast. Tourists are welcome too, as I was welcome at check-in. Service is always polite from Japanese staffs. English speaking staffs are available. Room comes with toilet, small bath tub, shower gel and shampoo. toiletries and pyjamas can be requested for free at reception. Lugguge can be stored after check-out. I will stay again at R&B, if available at the location i visit in japan.

Can’t control the mode of air conditioner in the room

They are too strict for check in time. That's not good if you arrive a little early.

A good option for an inexpensive hotel. Single rooms are small but clean and nice. Service was very helpful.

The (single) room is small even by Japanese standards: I couldn't even leave my bag open when I wasn't using it, there wasn't enough room. In all other respects the hotel was excellent: very quiet, clean, comfortable, good location (15 minutes walk to Ueno station, and there are other Metro stations closer).

Only stayed a night, but it was a cosy room, friendly staff and close to.the station and restaurants.

Not very good, only one clerk in front desk. It took me a lot of time for check-in.

It is just for over night in Tokyo

OK hotel. Little room, no vieuw, basic but clean. Great bath.
