It’s been ok

It is a very dated hotel with some facilities needs refurbishing. Bathroom bathtub is not sparkly clean. There are traces of patches of white filler used to mend the cracked tub. The management should have done better job in mending the tub. Booked seaview kind room but wasnt abke to use the tub. Kids slide area wasnt well maintained. Steps leading up to the slides has algae. Breakfast serving was so so although selection is huge.

This is my 2nd time . It's very kids friendly and convenient for elderly people in terms of the amenities.walking distance to feringgi nite market.hawker stalls are nearby.the most, kids love the swimming pools and enjoyed the beach. breakfast buffet was awesome.

It has restored its former glory.It had gone down badly but am so so happy now we can come back again and enjoy its peaceful and relaxing atmosphere.

We loved the view from the balcony. Everything about this hotel is designed for your comfort. We very quickly made the most of all the amenities because it is very easy to use.

This is the most outdated Shangri la resort in the region. The room badly need a refurbishment. Service is lacking in sincerity compared to Singapore and Cebu. Used cups in front of room during check in. Requested for baby amenities but did not arrive. VIP benefits on dining are very restricted. Recommend to look somewhere else.

Good: Waterslides were great for little kids. Hotel was clean and orderly. The staff was friendly. Walking distance to some local food stalls. The included breakfast was good. They made airport pickup and dropoff easy with their contractor, even for my family of 7 that was traveling. Be sure to request a van with shoulder seat belts if you care. 1 had them, 1 only had lap belts. Bad: Be sure you get what you want and request at check in. I clarified what kind of room that I needed a month before arrival. It was not complicated. King room ocean view, murphy bed, baby cot. I had to go back to the front desk 4 times before the Manager was able to help me get what was already agreed upon. My other 2 rooms were acceptable because they did not have special requests. The food for order by the pool was not very good and expensive. I guess this is expected of a resort. The food across the street was much better and significantly cheaper. The kid's club required payment and an adult to sit there. Personally, I have never seen this before at a name brand resort. It is usually included in the cost and an adult does not have to sit there. It kind of defeats the purpose of a kid's club.

Nice location and well kept. Beach is washed out, but pool was nice.

Extremely disappointing experience—not up to Shangri-La standards. We had to change rooms twice, resulting in packing and unpacking three times. Each room had severe issues: significant ant infestations in the bathrooms, peeling bathtubs, mouldy grout, and an overwhelming chemical smell after maintenance sprayed rooms with guests still inside. Staff were unhelpful, defensive, and offered no genuine solutions or apologies. Definitely not worth the price or the reputation of the Shangri-La brand.

Service top notch as always and great breakfast options!

Friendly staff. Hotel is a bit dated, but rooms are comfortable. Great buffet.

Restaurant staff was helpful

We'd not been to Penang before and went with friends who visit quite regularly. We were suitably impressed and will be planning another visit for a longer period when the occasion permits.

Rooms are clearly showing their age even if the property itself is pleasant with a beach resort vibe. There’s a shuttle bus to Jen hotel in town at 10 am and 2 pm. Prebooking is required. Takes about 45 mins or so.

I liked everthing about the resort

Staffs were very extremely nice and friendly. Well equipped gym, kids club open 10am-10pm, indoor adventure playground right beside at RM30 for 2 hours. Food wise there’s room to improve. Pool is fun with attended life guard everywhere and slide is fun. However monitor lizard is present, one swam across us and a young girl got so panicked that I quickly reached out to her cuz I think she can’t swim. It’s very close to nature so abit can’t do much. Pool wise not that clean cuz people walked barefoot on the grass and floor and then they enter. I couldn’t spot their filtration system. Algae’s rocks at the side of the pool, I mean aesthetically they looked pretty and full of nature like but I’m thinking about hygiene aspect. But nonetheless if you’re ok with it then I don’t see why not and my kid survive well. They don’t particularly have a beach but there are sports activities of different booth available. Had to walk to the left side of the beach to have better beach to play sandcastle but however sand is quite coarse and warnings of jellyfish are very apparent so we avoid swimming. The deluxe room flooring is clean, equipped with basic Iron with board, safe deposit, plenty of hangers, comfortable bed and pillows, plenty of power point to charge, plenty of lights to control to your liking, non-smoking good spacing balcony facing the pool with hanging pole to hang your wet clothes, beach non-slip slippers, bath gel, conditioner, and shampoo. Overall it’s kids friendly resort=)

we had enjoyed our stay in the hotel and we feel that the breakfast quality of food can be improved.

There is a mosque right in front of the property

I don’t recommend this hotel, because it’s not suitable for people who want to relax and enjoy the quiet, and it’s not as clean as it should be. It’s over priced too.
