Was here for a night, service was good requested for extra towel and another time requested for hair dryer, both request were handled in a fast manner. Spoken to one of the reception, and she was quite helpful in advising us on ways to go to Penang Mainland.

General Check-in Instructions
All rooms are strictly Non-Smoking room. Alternatively, guests can choose to smoke at public area (outdoor). Please note that penalty (minimum MYR100) will be charged to guest who failed to adhere hotel's Non-Smoking Policy. Effective from June 1, 2014, the City Council of Penang will impose a Local Council Tax of MYR 3 per room per night for 4 and 5-star hotels, and MYR 2 per room per night for 0 to 3-star hotels. The star rating will be in accordance to the rating from Local Council and should the rating differ from the website, the local council rating will apply. This fee is payable directly to the hotel upon check-in and is not included in the room rate and taxes stated herein. With effect from 01 September 2017, with reference to the Law of Malaysia Act 791, Tourism Act 2017, hotel guests who are non-Malaysian or non-Permanent Resident of Malaysia, are committed to a Tourism Tax of MYR 10.00 nett per room night of stay as determined and imposed by the Malaysian Government, which is not included in the reservation and will be collected by the hotel upon check in. This is to be applied in-addition to existing fees/taxes levied and the existing local tourism fee in Penang.

I stayed for 3 days and 2 nights in a room with 2 single beds and was very disappointed. The bed was uncomfortable, the mattress felt springy, the wallpaper was peeling, and the room was cramped. The weekend rate was double the price, which was simply not worth the amenities. I won't be returning!

Strategically Located Hotel in the City Center. This hotel is close to Penang's street food hub. Just walk 30 meters outside the hotel and you'll find Macalister Street and New Line Night Street Food. The hotel is very strategically located near Komtar and the bus terminal. This hotel is truly the best.
Ambiance/Facilities: Comfortable and well-equipped with a water dispenser.
Food: Close to New Line Night Street Food.
Staff Assistance: Very Friendly.
Highlights: Conveniently located, with a convenient location.
Price: Best Value.
Location: Very strategically located near Komtar and the bus terminal.

Stayed for 3 days. On 26-7-2024, the name changed to Yan Hotel. Took my parents to get medical treatment, the room was spacious enough for two people. The facilities are quite good, you can refill drinking water behind the reception (1st floor). The elevator is on the floor. The ground floor is safe for wheelchair users. There are many restaurants around, there is a new lane hawker center (closed on Wednesday nights) 😁
