Holiday Inn Express AMSTERDAM - NORTH RIVERSIDE by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Anna was especially helpful and professional in rectifying an error made by a new employee that had resulted in a double charge.

Overall convenient stay, close to the ferry which is free to take to the train station - next time I will probably stay in the city centre instead as it was inconvenient to get there at times. Breakfast was very limited and basic, but the room itself was spacious and comfortable. Staff were kind.

Room was clean and very comfortable; fantastic view from the bedroom. No drawers to put clothes but not really an issue. The buffet breakfast was superb - I'm Coeliac but did not go hungry. Neither did my husband who has a normal diet. All the staff were polite and helpful. The only downside was the lunch/dinner offering - very limited and nothing gluten free. Most nights we were in central Amsterdam but as we had an early flight home (for which we were provided a breakfast box), we wanted to eat at the hotel on our last night - my only option was a chicken ceasar salad with no chicken (as it was battered) and no croutons.

Great location for access to This is Holland. Clean. Quiet. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was ok. Didnt blow me away but was perfectly fine. X

Your breakfast facilities are terrible. There really isn't enough room for everyone. The service, i.e. the employees are not up to par, the orange juice was always empty, all we got was water out of it, we had to wait for either cups or plates and when we asked about it we got very rude answers. I don't think we want to stay there again. Thank you Karl K

Excellent hotel, what I did not like were the extra fees we had to pay on arrival, as the nightly stay was already so expensive

Good hotel located little bit further from city centre but the metro is 8 min walking distance. I liked the ambiance and atmosphere around the hotel. Room was clean however they do not offer daily room service. For change of towels or to change trash bin you have ask reception which was something that I did not like. But staffs were friendly and accommodating.

Room air conditioner not working even though it was notified to the staff repeatedly and no action was taken to resolve. All the three nights we could not sleep properly.

The hotel was very nice and close to the train station and is one stop away from central station

Perfect hotel, but there is no door on the shower so the bathroom floor can get quite wet

There was a bomb on the rail tracks from Paris to Amsterdam and the trains were canceled. Hotels.com contacted this hotel and due to the unfortunate circumstances, the hotel agreed to redund our money. Then 2 days latwr they reversed the decision and decided to charge us anyway. Be careful as they clearly will keep any monies collected regardless of uncontrollable circumstances. By the way all other bookings associated with this trip refunded our money. Shame on you Holiday Inn

The hotel was exactly as expected. Lovely spacious bar and lounge area. Great choices for breakfast including vegan and gluten free. The staff were fab, friendly and helpful. A big thank you to Rowan who went above and beyond and contacted a local hospital after I was injured. If you are staying here, be aware it's about a 1 k walk from the free ferry. You should also get the train from Schiophol airport and not the bus, as the bus station is a lot further. There are 2 supermarkets literally on the doorstep which is very helpful. (Great prices too as we bought the Stroopwaffles there which were about 5E cheaper per pack than in the tourist parts!
