We were stuck in Kongsvinger for a day due to confusion on train reroute for track maintenance on ticket from Oslo to Stockholm. We booked this hotel when we found out we'd be stranded for a day with the kids. Hotel was great about accommodating our 2 adult, 2 child family in one of the only 2 twin bed rooms left and added a fold out bed.

I was disappointed. As a former resident of Kongsvinger I happen to know that this used to be the very best Hotel in the town. It can now only be described as 'tired'. The staff were courteous, but not especially customer oriented. Room was comfortable, but not what I expected of a higher end hotel. The sauna was good, but the pool was very cold. Breakfast on day 1 was interesting as the yoghurt placed on the buffet had gone off. Not the very best advertisement for Kongsvinger.

Find something else, even a tent. Totally unworthy of the price charged. The room is tiny/claustrophobic. I have stayed in B&B with larger rooms and better condition. The toilet is next to the bed, with a cover that is impossible to cover without a loud bang and a door that does not close, it just barely shields the view. When I complained upon arrival, I was told "all rooms are the same and the place is being slowly re-modelled". They should close the place until the remodeling is done. The breakfast was OK, but not enough to save this review. If anyone from EXPEDIA visited the place, they would have taken off the list. SHAME EXPEDIA, you can do better!

We had to change rooms. The toilet in the bathroom was dirty had not been cleaned. I complained and got another room. That room and bathroom were clean. We hope it was a one time mistake.

Vinger Hotel bør være sidste udvej hvis man skal bo i Kongsvinger, Hotellet er meget slidt, billederne må være taget da hotellet var nyt, alt bærer præg af der ikke er gjort noget de sidste 20-30 år, værelser er slidte, der var hul i væggen på badeværelse.

Det luktet kloakk i resepsjonen, badet var lite ingen plass for å henge opp håndklær. Baren var uprofesjonelt drevet, de manglet mange råstoffer for å lage drinkene. Vi var i bryllup, serveringen var amatørmessig, brudeparet ble servert sist ikke først som de skulle.

Veldig nedslitt hotell, både hotellrommet og felles arealer. Laminatgulvet var fuktskadet og mange sprekker i gulvet. Lite "privat" opplevelse å benytte toalettet, da det kun var skyvedør som ikke lar seg stenge helt mellom toalett og soverom. Toalettet gikk ikke alltid å spyle ned i (tok ikke inn vann), men fungerte hvis samboeren slo lett på vanntanken. Varmt på rommet, ikke air condition. Spa: det var ikke noe spa. Bassenget er litt for kaldt for å kalles spaopplevelse. Badstue OK, sa ifra i resepsjonen så skrudde de på badstuen. Frokostbuffet hadde lite utvalg, men helt grei mat. Basic pålegg, veldig gode brød! Hyggelig og imøtekommende personale. Litt for dyrt sett i forhold til standarden, men helt greit sted å sove hvis man fyller dagene med andre aktiviteter enn å sitte på hotellet.

Et hotel som har levd sine år med brune fliser på badet og rødt teppebelegg i gangene. Renholdet kunne vært et hakk opp på badet. Frokost var helt grei med det meste som en bør forvente. Stille, fredelig og ellers helt ok rom. Det som enkelt kan gjøres noe med er at ALLE jeg møtte, både i resepsjonen, baren og frokostpersonalet, burde ta et smilekurs! Litt smil og service ville hevet opplevelsen betraktelig!

Beklageligvis et hotell med veldig gamle rom og utdaterte løsninger. Bassenget var flott og rent, og det var god plass til å dusje i Spaavd. En nødvendighet å ha tilgang til bassenget med dusjløsningen som var på rommet. De ansatte kunne godt smilt litt mer og vært imøtekommende på spørsmål og behov underveis i oppholdet. Kommer ikke til å dra tilbake dit.
