Sandy Beach Hotel

I booked this hotel because of the reviews saying it was EXCELLENT, but the reviews I read were so inaccurate after staying here! Please DONT'T expect anything extravagant! You get what you pay for. It really reminds you of a motel. The ONLY thing that was a plus is that it's in walking distance of plenty eating places and the beach is directly there. The older receptionist was somewhat rude and had a slight attitude. The younger receptionist was nicer and made sure we had what we needed. The AC unit was directly above the bed and dripped water on us. Stains were also seen on the walls coming from the AC unit! No housekeeping! The shower curtain needed to be changed and there was a cigarette burn on the comforter. The area is somewhat quiet at night even with a club like lounge directly behind the hotel. I loved the area but wouldn't definitely stay in a different hotel.

When Expedia referred me to the property I asked about the incidental charge or resort fees because it was not listed anywhere. When Expedia called and asked the front desk about it they stated it would not be one. When I arrived, it seems as if it was time for Ivin cigarette break because he was very rude and unprofessional! He ask for my PIN number to my card to put a $200 incidental hold on my card and when I questioned him he went off yelling at me and in mid conversation he walks off and go smoke a cigarette, now he does this to me in front of a group of people and I was on the phone as Expedia witness him totally disrespect me. When I arrived in the room I was really shocked that the hotel had an incidental hold there was literally nothing in the room that can accommodate me at all. No toilet paper , only two large towels, no ice bucket no cups, not to mention the bed was made of bricks. There were stains on the blanket, mold in the ceilings, so at this point I’m like why was I charged an Incidental charge. The furniture was about 59 years old. Great location and all of the staff was super nice ACCEPT FOR IVIN! The restaurant attached to the hotel was perfect and the people was so nice. But please do not stay here this hotel should not be on any site for anyone to stay in!

No parking was probably second worst thing but first i would say the cleanliness if the rooms needs major improvement.

Hotel, elevator, hallways and Room was terrible. Rust and run down. Room had water soaked ceiling tiles sagging, mold, no bedding but a blanket, like a high school bathroom. just gross.

1st off i didnt stay as i wasnt able to enter the property or even get a staff member on the phone! I called over 7x and i evem contacted expedia they couldn't even contact them and they charged me as i according to.them check in . Called the # on Google and a man picked up from.ny stating he keeps getting calls from.ppl.trying to reach that hotel and he stood once and they over xhatged him Idk it was weird they're were men hangin out inthe st and one looked like he was drug up with no shoes standing there. I left and now im fighting to get my money back from.this unsafe scam.dorty place . I DONT RECOMMEND!!

Almost oceanfront.

It is RIGHT at the beach. Very old building…cosmetically not beautiful but it is clean. I agree with someone else about the one or two night stay, it’s a decent location but you’ll get none of the creature comforts of a newer hotel. The staff was very kind though. I think the deposit is crazy. The bathroom in my room was extremely small but serviced my needs and was clean.

Windows are thin, so every noise makes it through. Hard to fall asleep to the loud crowds of vacationers outside late night.

The stay was OK and the staff friendly but we small issues with the pillows and hot water , wish we had a fringe and coffee maker like so many other places . but it wasn't a bad experience..

I liked that it’s walking distance to everything but I didn’t like that there is no room cleaning, and also the bathrooms are very small, couldn’t use the toilet without the wall hitting my head like it was a very small gap.

Right next to the beach was a plus! All the stores you need as well around the hotel

The property was not what I expected, upon my arrival the power was out, within my stay the power went out several times. I also didn’t get the room I paid for initially. One of the staff almost walked in on me because he thought the room was empty (not his fault). There is no parking this is definitely bad for business specially when some of us like to rent cars. They also came to clean the room one time, after that they never came back. The staff was ok but I think they need to do better.

The hotel was three stars I'm not sure how that happened but it's 2 stars with a greatest location. Check in was bad, rooms were partially redone, no real hot water after running for 10 minutes I got 5 minutes of hot water. night front desk was not equipped with tools to even get extra shampoo. Beds were so bad, not even a pad on the bed just a single bottom sheet.
