Staff was super friendly and our room was perfect. Orient village is just a minute or two walk away from any of the rooms and the beach was phenomenal. Would recommend it to anyone.

This was our 3rd year at La Playa. Staff is awesome. Rooms are very nice. The beach & ocean are right on the property. Just my recommendation is change the breakfast up a little. Same stuff every day. 4.5 stars.

The hotel was the same as the pictures on their website. The room we had on the third floor was excellent with a nice size refrigerator and freezer which we used only to store some wine, water and I made some ice just because there was an ice tray. The hotel had a very convenient large ice machine. The staff were very friendly and helpful for the most part ,we had some miscommunication issues with the staff replenishing the coffee in the room but they made up for it by giving us some extra. It was no big deal. Only other issue was that when we went to lunch the first few days at the very convenient beach side restaurant the staff kept asking us if we had reservations even though the restaurant was never fully occupied. We then said we would like a reservation every day for lunch and the issue ended. The restaurant had many tables available every day so I’m not sure why they made such a requirement. The breakfast was a nice meal with a great view. Very relaxing way to start the day. There are many restaurants (8 or 9) for dinner a short walk from the hotel as well as a two small grocery stores which also sell wine and spirits, a good pizzeria ,ice cream shop, bakery and deli. Everything you would need plus a beautiful beach.

“The overall experience was good. The room and the proximity to the beach were wonderful.
If breakfast is going to be included, it should be served by more attentive and dedicated staff. The young woman named Mariale was very attentive and helpful, but the rest of the staff were inattentive and somewhat rude.
The breakfast buffet should be better served and cleaner.
Overall, it’s very good and I would return.”

Staff wasn't friendly at all! At the beach, you won't be able to see the staff to order drinks. If he was around, and maybe ask customers if they want anything, hotel would make much more money! At the beach bar, bartender was kind of rude. Breakfast was complimentary, but don't get excited, not many choices, very very basic !
Rooms we like, clean and good size! Beach was nice. That's it.

Best Boutique hotel on Orient Bay. First trip to St. Maarten. Awesome French beach vibe. Steps to local town and restaurants. 3 Miles from Grand Case where they have nice waterfront restaurants.

Great hotel! Location is great. Very good restaurants walking distance! Restaurant staff is friendly and helpful, but the VIP employee is Elena! Such great help, very knowledgeable and so helpful! She definitely made my stay easier with her recommendations! I would definitely be returning to this hotel.

My room was smelling like sewer. I complained about it everyday to three different people but no one took care of it. Everyday we would come back and room is still smelling. All they did was ran hot water, sprayed room freshener and opened sliding door. One day they even left the sliding door open for all the day without thinking about our safety that what if someone can just come in or steal our stuff. This is not a 4 star hotel. This is not the service you expect from 4 star hotel where you are paying more than $400 per room night. It was very disappointing and horrible experience. I book hotels on Expedia based on the raying given but this was definitely not a 9.4 star rating hotel.

This was our second stay at La Playa. It was fantastic as usual! The staff is exceptional and the resort is beautiful. It’s laidback and relaxing. The bartender GP is amazing. We love him!! Thanks GP, Carlos, and Alexandra. It was great to see u all again! We will definitely be back!

Staying at La Playa was a luxury vacation without being over the top (simple elegance). Everything has been very well thought out - towel service, walkability to village for dinner/market, loungers at the beach, beautiful pool space, kitchenette in the room, breakfast by the beach, and the concierge team was helpful with every question we had. We had a wonderful vacation there.
