The hostel was very strategically placed, and the sleeping pod was super comfortable! The shared amenities were clean and well-maintained, and I appreciate how the hostel allows us to store our luggage before our check-in time. I had an absolutely lovely time here.

We were in a private superior double bed room on the fourth floor for five days. Unfortunately, the elevator only went to the third floor, but staff were very helpful getting our luggage to the room. The room is kinda small for two people with a lot of luggage. The bathroom shower was awesome! There was limited housekeeping and had to be requested. Clean towels and coffee pods ran out after the third day but after requesting more, they were delivered. The bar and dining area were nice. The menu was limited, but there are so many wonderful restaurants nearby to satisfy dining expectations! Bella Italia was a wonderful option.

Really wonderful stay in an 8 bed female dorm at The Code. Room was clean, lockers for belongings are large and easy to access. Common area bathrooms were very clean and never crowded. The cafe is great and you can't beat the location to everything in city center. Highly recommend and will likely stay here again.

CODE was a really nice hostel with friendly staff and well thought of design for most parts. The toilets were outside the room equipped with hairdryer so that people do not get disturbed. The pods were also comfy and they also had fans that you could borrow if you felt that the room was warm (Thank you!). The CODE also had many activities that you can experience which was really nice and i met nice fellow solo travellers through the activities (Eg. Pub quiz, walking tour, beer tasting, movie night). And alot of their activities were also free. They also had free luggage storage pre and post check-in. The food at the cafe was discounted for hostel stayers and it was pretty good. Overall an amazing hostel experience!

We were in a private superior double bed room on the fourth floor for five days. Unfortunately, the elevator only went to the third floor, but staff were very helpful getting our luggage to the room. The room is kinda small for two people with a lot of luggage. The bathroom shower was awesome! There was limited housekeeping and had to be requested. Location perfect for a first time visit to Edinburgh as so close to many historical sites and lots of restaurants and shops. We stayed at beginning and end of our trip.our 4th floor room more spacious than the room we had on the 3rd floor.Both were clean. We did not eat but did enjoy a drink at the bar one evening with a friendly crowd.

Outstanding location, friendly staff and fun activities each night. Rooms are SUPER tiny and mine had a cleanliness issue when I arrived, but they did resolve it. Food downstairs is convenient and good, and you can leave your luggage before/after check in/out. Highly recommended base for an easy, fun trip!

Staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The pods were clean and well maintained. The common areas were very chill and offered a nice place to recharge (either devices, or yourself). I would highly recommend and will stay again if I ever go back!

Fabulous spot right downtown in the mix of everything. The ladies dorm was wonderful bring earplugs, though everything was clean and the people were friendly. I would book there again.

Either I didn't look closely enough or it wasn't advertised, but this is a hostel. Now, for a hostel, it was surprisingly quiet and we were able to book a room with an ensuite. It was very small, but if your goal is to be right in the middle of the Royal Mile without paying a fortune, this is the place. We didn't stay long enough to use a lot of amenities. The lobby was very loud and most of the guests were considerably younger (hostel vibe). TLDR: hostel, quiet upstairs, small ensuite room, middle of Royal Mile.

First time staying in a hostel. Beautiful and clean room. Very small. Shared bathroom was beautiful and clean, however had an odor in the showers closest to the toilets but there were others to use so it was fine.
