Everything is going well, breakfast is tasty

Had a wonderful 10 day stay!! It was walking distance to everything or to transportation. Room was clean and had heat/ac. Loved the heated and self flushing/cleaning toilet! Hotel had a restaurant on site and the food was amazing! The staff was super nice and helpful. Only suggestion would be to remove or deep clean stained carpet in hallway. Other than that it was awesome and would definitely stay again!

For Americans new to South Korea, expect hotel rooms to be smaller than what you are used to. Hand Picked Hotel is no exception. Then again, the Hotel rates are far lower than in the USA. If you’re expecting a 4star experience and room sizes, book a Five Star Hotel. I would give a 4 star to the staff, only because I ran into a situation where no staff were present when I accidentally locked myself out of my room. Apparently the young reception crew were out back taking a break together. When I found them, and asked for assistance, they said they were taking a break and will be back in about 5 minutes. In all other instance, all the staff, from doorman to cleaning ladies were curtious and helpful. The hotel itself seems old and run down. We had a false fire alarm due to the elevators malfunctioning. Apparently water had flooded the elevator shafts. Then one of the two elevators the hotel had was shut down for the remainder of our stay. I will chalk it up to the rainy season. Our stay at Hand Picked Hotel was at the end of July.

There were staff who were fluent in English and Japanese. Everyone was very kind and helpful.

Pros: Staff is very kind, helpful & English speaking, the cafe in the basement is nice, the maids come in to change your towels, make your bed, take your trash out etc every day, eco friendly shower products, airport bus Cons: Location: 20-30 minute taxi ride to popular spots in Seoul, 40-50+ mins with the subway or bus, scuffs on the walls and furniture, room would get up to 80+ degrees even though the heat was turned off and the curtains were closed, no airflow unless you open a window which I often had to do to cool the room down but then the street noise was very loud and disruptive, toilet didn’t flush very well, yellowing grout in the shower, dirty screens/windows, rips and holes in the towels and bedding (the strings in the bottom of our duvet covers where they’re supposed to tie together were completely ripped off, there was a loud electrical crackling coming from the wall by the door one night too ?… could be a nice hotel it’s just run down and needs some refreshing

Every room has front ocean view. Fantastic view!

The double room is not very spacious which is inconvenient to manage with 2 luggages. It is close to a subway station, but traveling time is longer as it is located in the north of the river. Computer for guest at the front desk is very slow, I wasn’t even able to open the web browser to do my check-in. Very useless! Overall the stay was average, nothing stood out.

The room, beds and bathroom were clean and appropriate.

Loved the shower, the pillows and bedding, condition of room and small sized boutique hotel. Suggestions for improvement: Update the computer in the business center so it has Chrome, Firefox or Microsoft Edge browsers. The only browser on that computer was Internet Explorer, which is no longer used by ANYONE and not supported by newer websites or email sources. This is simple fix for your Computer staff. Also, it would be really nice to have some other options for food in the lower court instead of just dessert foods. The coffee was good, but it would be nice to stock Western -style breakfast food like fruit, cereal, milk, etc. Simple touches that make travel easier. I had to use Starbucks and Paris Bagette to get food for breakfast.

It is clean n tidy. Room is in good condition and the locatiin is pretty cinvenient especially with the airport bus shuttle.

Great location for transport to airport. Easy access to trains as well. Lots of good food around

The front desk staff was frirndly and efficient. The room was clean, bed eas comfortable and met our needs. Had a good dinner at the lobby restaurant. The only distractor was streer noise and tallking that seemed to come from nowhere, that dissolved our first impression of a quiet stay. Overall, agood stay. It was convenient for us for a 2 night stay and we would stay there again.

The hotel is located between 2 subway stations, both are about 10 mins away by walk. The room (604) was smaller than other hotel rooms I have stayed in Seoul. There were a few quirks for this hotel - 2 free americano were offered for the next morning but the restaurant weren't opened until 9am; our window was not soundproof so we can hear street traffic from 6th floor throughout the night; and pillows were too big and uncomfortable for us. My request for an iron and ironing board was quickly addressed. We ordered a pizza in the basement restaurant and it was not good - very white crust without any browning. It looked like either it needed another 5~10 mins in the oven or the temperature was set too low.
