Mrs Kim was an amazing host with a beautiful smile. Rooms were clean and a good value for our budget. We didnt lack anything there. A good continental breakfast got us going in the morning and she helped us with finding places to visit. If we return we know where we are welcomed!

I had a great stay here during my trip to Seoraksan National Park. The hosts were so warm and friendly. I was able to do a load of laundry (for a small extra charge) and while I was waiting in the lobby for the wash cycle to finish, the host gave me some mugwort rice cakes to try.

After a hectic week in Seoul, this was a great place to relax and unwind. I was immediately greated and felt welcomed by the owner. The rooms are basic but comfortable. There is a light breakfast supplied. The bus is a 5 minute walk (#7 and 7-1) and for those who like walking/hiking, Seoraksan National Park is an easy hour away (by foot) as well as many other trails around this beautiful area. This place is a hidden gem.

Nice environmental place. Building is old but room was ok. The bad thing is bed was hard, not comfortable. But i can't complaint more cause i got what i paid for. It was incredibly cheap.around 30 dollars a day. I must say that the place where the hotel located is the best place in seulaksan mountain area to enjoy and healing. The owner was nice and helpful too.

A bus stop is very nearby making trips to the mountain and beaches very convenient. The owner and staff were super nice. I was able to borrow a hiking pole and received helpful guidance on a hiking route. It was a very comfortable stay.

Unfortunately, all surrounding is in bad state, most of hotels and services are bankrupted and many of them already getting destroyed, all surrounding is like a ghost town. But that is what Smile Resort owner can not impact. All what she can do she does very well, accommodation is nice, good managed, very hostile owner.

Stayed at a room right in front of the stairway. Checked in a bit late and didn't have a chance to ask. Seems this room doesn't have heating so it was pretty chilly at night although the floor wasn't that cold. Should ask the owner for a heater if you find the room cold.

If you're looking for a clean, quiet place to rest up for/recover from a big hike at Seoraksan National Park, you can't do better than this for the money. It's certainly no-frills, but the proprietor is kind and easy-going, the room was spotless, the water is hot and pressure high, and you're minutes from the most popular entrance to the park. Breakfast is simple but filling - toast, cereal, and freshly steamed rice cakes with fresh coffee or tea. There are hot water kettles and filtered water refill stations on each floor. The beds are quite firm, but we slept comfortably. A note on the area: The bus schedule can be a little confusing, but we never had to wait more than 15 minutes for one. This isn't a popular stop on the bus route, so just make sure to stay close to the road and keep an eye out so you can wave to the driver, otherwise it may fly past! It almost passed us on our trip into the park, but I ran after it waving and it stopped as soon as the driver saw me. The surrounding area is a bit eerie - many of the neighboring properties look to have been reclaimed by nature decades ago, but it did not feel unsafe. If you're into urban exploring, this may even be a plus for you! There is a 24 hour market with the usual packaged convenience foods a couple blocks away on the main road, as well as several active restaurants that appear to be kept open by tour bus lunch breaks. All in all, everything we needed and a great value!

Location is about 30 mins walk/5-10 mins bus ride from entrance of Mt. Seorak which is great. There's a bus stop less than 5 mins walk from the guesthouse. From Sokcho Bus Terminal, take bus 7/7-1 to Arcade Stop (if not mistaken), the bus stop is right in front of the Winter Olympic Mascots' statues. Take the same bus to get to Mt. Seorak, it starts running from 5.30 am. We arrived late at night whilst it was raining and the lady owner waited for us, she upgraded us from double room to family room. It was a really kind gesture and we were really grateful after a long day of travelling! Guesthouse a little run down but room and toilet were spacious and kept clean. Hot shower with good water pressure. Tiny towels provided but sufficient for us. Hairdryer also provided. TV worked well. There's water dispenser and microwave at the hallway. Simple breakfast of bread and jam prepared for us but make sure to wash up after yourselves. Overall, will definitely stay again!

This was just what I wanted and expected from the online description: Charming, cheap, and convenient to Seoraksan. Not the hotel's fault, but: I was there the last weekend of April and the whole area was pretty dead. Most restaurants closed, etc. I had seen reviews saying that in winter it was like that, but I wasn't expecting it in the middle of spring.
