We absolutely loved the Temple Hotel, it had a Knights Templar theme, from being ‘greeted’ by a suit of armour in reception, to iron braziers for the lights, medieval style furniture and pictures, even the key to the bedroom was an iron ‘Tau’ - all in homage to the spectacular Knights Templar Castle in Ponferrada.
In addition the rooms were comfortable, the welcome was warm, and breakfast was a veritable feast worthy of any knights!

The hotel was beautiful and the perfect walking distance from everything in town! It was clean and always felt safe. The staff spoke some English & were always kind about our lack of Spanish knowledge. We loved it!

Unfortunately the last remodel of this facility was probably 1960. This is a modern city with real hotels. I can’t suggest this to be anything more than a modest Albergue that obviously has private rooms

Worst hotel I have stayed at in Spain. They have horrible customer service. Wifi is impossible to connect to. Hotel backs up to a loud street. No a/c and my window would not open. Walls are paper thin. You can hear every conversation of people next door and above you. I had to leave the hotel in the middle of the night to go to a different one, I am so glad I did. The front desk was horrible and unhelpful.

We very much enjoyed the decor and service. A bit loud from street noise and defiant needed better pillow options than one long pillow but overall very enjoyable for a night. Easy walk into town and the Templar castle.

The hotel is located on the edge of the shopping centre and 5 mins walk from the rail station.The Templar castle is a good 15 mins walk away, but the railway museum is just across the bridge from the hotel.
A warm welcome at Reception; who throughout my stay were very helpful; especially being translator with a taxi driver who I wanted to use to explore the hinterland. A walk-in health clinic is 5 mins walk away.
The hotel and rooms are presented in a medieval style; though in my room a new lick of paint would refresh the minor marked / stained areas.
The room was comfortable and quiet and I slept well. Breakfast has a fair range of cold fayre, but the presentation of the hot scrambled egg and bacon was not appealing. Boiled bacon sitting in a bath of water is definitely off-putting and I gave both a wide berth!
Otherwise a lovely place to stay.
