Ekho Surf

This property sits right along the shore of a beautiful, clean, white sandy beach with warm water and soft lapping waves. The property itself is currently going through some needed upgrades, but, everything was beautiful and pretty well-maintained. The units that have a patio with access to the pool were wonderful. The buffet breakfast every morning was delicious and there were lots of things to choose from. We really enjoyed the staff. They seem to care a lot about our happiness and were very helpful.

Layout of the hotel was good for see if views as the hotel stretches out length ways, room was a little rough around the edges and just feel it could do with a refurb to get five stars however the view was wonderful - the hotel seems to have like a hotel split in two vibe due to the layout Staff were all very nice Tuna turner was very nice food and drink but a little over priced when comparing the restaurants across the tracks which were very good River safari is worth paying a visit All in all I would say 4.5 stars, if the rooms were a bit better it could get to a five

Staffs were really friendly and so helpful. Room is very clean and there was daily housekeeping. Soap and shampoo and towel was available Breakfast buffet was amazing😋 There was 2 swimming pool near the beach And finally the great view from the room. This hotel is close to bentota railway station but sometimes no stop there. Totally that was perfect experience

Would not recommend - it’s rotting. Left stay early. More staff and cleanliness required to meet standards. Poor/no wifi in rooms (not just me - families sent children to lobby for electronic time in the evening as only place with service) Breakfast was cold - tables dirty attracting flies - need more staff - only tried once and returned the next day but walked out again immediately. Need to upgrade their reception systems - I wasn’t on a printed out list of people checking in that day causing delay. For the price paid the standard was not sufficient.

Fabulous beach location. Big balcony - ideal for watching amazing sunsets. Staff friendly & helpful. Great pools. Good choice of buffet breakfast.

Good service in all departments food good. Location is fantastic. Towels either have a coloured scheme as the white is grey. Would surest a hand rail by the entrance of hotel. My 22nd visit to hotel

We had 9 brilliant days here,the room were comfortable and the swimming pools were welcome due to the heat

Your staff is amazing. Nothing is too difficult for them. It makes a world of difference when they bend over backwards to make your stay a comfortable one. Good was great too. Your chefs were willing to cook any special needs.

For all those who are thinking of booking this hotel BE AWARE!!! A SUBSTANTIAL ABOUT OF CASH WAS STOLEN FROM WIFE'S BAG!!!,the power kept going on and off numoueous times during our stay,when I got back to Colombo I realised $3200 was missing i got in touch with the hotel asap who apparently looked at the cctv footage failed to tell us is there is no footage capture during the power outages, during one of the outages our money was stolen diapite the room being locked . I even got in contact with the GM of this hotel who who replied with no apology or empathy. i have contacted the sri lanakan tourism police who are investigating the incident,I know I won't get my money back however for future tourist who visit this hotel be AWARE hopefully you won't go though what I have encounterd.

1- The hotel staff are very slow, and the problem is they are slow when it comes to solving issues, it was 10PM I am about to sleep and had to call the reception 3 times to ask for someone to come and fix the AC which was very very loud as if I am in a factory not a hotel room. 2- The bedsheets were not clean, the first time I asked the staff to come and change the bed sheets and they did, they changed it with another dirty sheets, so it seems that all bed sheets they have are dirty. 3- The water was cold from the tab till I called them to come and fix the water heater, so staying for 2 nights I had to face 3 issues which were not all properly solved. such a dissapointment.

Horrible customer service The servers are slow and have a lot of attitude. The rooms had termites and were sprayed for bugs everyday cause of the unhygienic maintenance

The location of this property is excellent. We had booked 4 rooms at the property through expedia for 1 night. I had emailed them multiple times asking for driver accommodation but got no response. Finally i called and asked and they said they will provide driver accomodation if it is not full but when I reached there they said they dont provide driver accomodation for bookings made through third party website like expedita. That was a big let down. Other than that the stay was good. Rooms are neat and clean and very close to the beach. Breakfast buffet was really good.

The location was great all be it a little too quiet at times. The hotel was well maintained and had a wonderful breakfast ...although found the other food (lunch and dinner) to not be as good so we spent our evenings dining across the road at Mallis , Trax and happy garden . Seafood great in Mallis and the authentic Sri lankan curry was great at happy garden also a third of the price than the hotel! Nirodha the sous chef was amazing , so friendly and helpful in explaining the dishes...we looked forward to our chats with him at breakfast. Another tip, dont exchange money at the hotel. The rate is poor in comparison and they were overly fussy about the condition of the notes. I went down the road and exchanged at a much better rate and all notes were accepted regardless of pen marks!???! We were lucky enough to be there over the Sri Lankan new year and the hotel put on various games and treats which we loved. The staff also got involved and was great to interact with everyone. Pin the eye on the elephant was a particular favourite although i wasnt close!! I did notice there were some vip guests that were being fawned over during this time which to us was a bit ridiculous as if you had faith in your hotel then you wouldnt feel the need to do this and offer extra things that the other guests didnt have...provided us a chuckle and entertainment to the happenings though. Overall it was a good experience ,the reception lady was always smiling and chatty and Chadia in des cafe to.

The location and view is just awesome. Chef was kind and gracious enough. Men at restaurant were good. Though they too forget to get water despite being asked no of times. They just forget. Don’t know how? Apart from these everything was horrible. I would never ever recommend surf to anyone. No phone, no power points, need to remind no of times for each and everything. They not even extend greeting while we checking out. Not been given any feedback too. Failed in courtesy. Overall mine was not a pleasant experience. I would give just 1 star
