Malibu Beach Resort

Reception staff were outstanding! Always friendly, smiling,happy and greeting us each time we arrived back. Good english. Resort is Right on the beach. Across the road from shopping mall, plenty of restaurant options. Also lots of street shops. We hired a scooter from a lady right next to the hotel, plenty of hotel parking. Spacious bathroom facilities. Swimming pool was always very clean. Restaurant staff helpful. Buffet breakfast was simple, but offered to cook which ever type of eggs.

rooms are of highly variable quality. Mine was on the low side.

Lovely beach views from the bar. Room was great, very clean. Staff were extremely friendly, would stay again.

Small quiet hotel competing to the other hotels around. Nice garden between the rooms. The rooms themselves not so well maintained, the first room we got was in a bad shape so we got upgrade for a better one. Good location.

Mixed Experience at Malibu Resort Koh Samui The location of Malibu Resort is excellent – it’s right on the beach and directly across from the Koh Samui city center shopping mall. This makes it very convenient for shopping, dining, and exploring the area. The beach itself is great for swimming, and several good restaurants and attractions are within walking distance. The rooms, however, are quite basic. While there is hot water and a balcony to relax on, the TV lacks Netflix or YouTube, so it’s not ideal if you’re looking for entertainment. That said, the rooms are functional and can serve well as a crash pad for those who just need a place to rest and unwind. A word of caution: be wary of the water jet scooter providers operating right on the beach in front of Malibu. We had a very unpleasant encounter with them. After inadvertently parking the scooter on the wrong section of the beach (which we weren’t informed about), they were extremely aggressive and shouted at us, ruining the mood of the day. Unfortunately, the resort staff had no affiliation with these vendors and couldn’t offer any assistance. It was a disappointing experience, especially since we were just trying to enjoy the day. I hope the resort management takes note of this and finds a way to ensure better interactions between guests and these third-party vendors. Overall, Malibu is a good spot if you’re looking for a convenient location with access to the beach and nearby amenities.

I live in the next island Koh Phangan. When I come to Samui I love staying at Malibu. Great staff. Lovely pool and restaurant in front of a great beach location. And walking distance from Central mall. Love the ambience and food and location and people. Highly recommended.

Perfect location on beachfront with plenty of seating options close to the water. Friendly helpful staff. Great location also close to other restaurants and bars.

Great spot to stay. Solid place for the price as well. Would stay here again for a longer term. Don't be scared of the medium priced menu. Each meal could be split between a couple!

Great location. Close to shops, restaurants and night life. But also in a quiet location. The hotel is in good condition and has polite staff.

The location of the hotel is great- right in the middle of the Chaweng and close to everything, the breakfast was good and the beach is clean. The rooms are located between many trees, which attract a lot of mosquitoes. The wifi in the rooms rarely works, and when it does it has very poor connection. There was a construction going on in the hotel from the morning till the evening- we paid full price for this time, though we couldn't eat or sleep in this noise. There is no hot water in the shower. When we talked to the manager she was very rude and said there is nothing that can be done and offered us a free meal in the hotel restaurant under very specific conditions- we left the coupon for the meal and left the hotel. Do not recommend. They don't appreciate their guest.

Very quiet chalet type accomodation in a very busy area. Wonderfulbeach 100´ away. Hundreds of restaurants close by-------would stay there again

the rooms were ok, but not great. relatively clean but needed a bit of work. water pressure was awful, making it impossible to have anything but a cold shower with trickling water at best.

This is the second time we have stayed at Malibu, and it must be said that their location is great. About 400m from the Ark Bar Beach Party, close enough to walk but far enough not to hear the party. Direct access to the beach 50m from our bedroom. We had access to loads of restaurants, bars, street vendors the walking street and more all within 2-3 minute walk. Accross the road is the Central Festival mall, with more conventional shopping and dining options. I may have described chaos, but Malibu is a peaceful retreat in the middle of Chaweng Beach, you wouldnt believe the amount of activity around you if you. The beach pool is also amazing, cocktails and cold beers on the beach an absolute must. We travelled with two older children (15 & 18), Malibu set us up with really spacious adjoining rooms with comfortable bed, lounging area, flat screen, solid internet, sufficient plug sockets, large shower/wet room and safe. Hiccup, there was a technical error on our air conditioning, which started to leak water into the room, engineering staff were available to put an interim fix in place after 11PM, and fully repaired by the morning, crisis averted. A more polished management team may have made an apology for the inconvenience. Our only negative would be that breakfast was poor This is our 5th trip to Thailand and 3rd to Samui, I would rate Malibu 5/5 for location and 4.5/5 for value. Well worth a visit

Hotel is in a great location within walking distance to the main restaurants and shopping center in Chaweng Beach. Lovely beachfront location for the dinning and pool. The rooms are basic but have all the amenities required. Rooms were well serviced daily. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We included the buffet breakfast in our accommodation however given the location you could have easily visited local cafes/restaurants. The buffet was fairly basic with only limited options. Overall our week stay was good value for money.

We had a wonderful time here as the hotel is in a great location It has a great infinity pool which was fantastic but Im unsure what it would be like in the busy season . Basic but more than adequate brekky , and we had the best meal I had in the whole of Koh Samui at Mazaro, their Italian restaurant . The room we had was a good size with a balcony terrace . The only down side was the air conditioning which I don't think was strong enough. Overall though we had a great stay and would definately come back .
