Novotel Phuket Kata Avista Resort & Spa

Amazing experience at Novotel Kata Avista. We were staying in a family room as travelled with our 2 children. The room was great with wonderful little gestures for the children. The hotel catters very well for the little ones - the kids club, rooms, breakfast, small swimming pool etc. The only drawback would be that the hotel is situated on a steep hill but this didn't bother us and even the children managed to go up and downhill twice a day. The hotel offered free shuttle to the beach but honestly, it is so close that it is not worth using it. There are plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby.

Det finns dock några faktorer som påverkade vår bedömning: • Hotellet ligger på en kulle med en mycket brant uppförsbacke. • Under de fyra dagar vi bodde på hotellet fungerade inte hissen, vilket innebar att vi fick gå fem trappor efter den branta uppförsbacken. • Receptionen vid incheckning verkade mycket rörig och saknade tydligt management, vilket gav ett oseriöst intryck. • Restaurangens och barens priser var oskäligt höga, betydligt dyrare än de andra närliggande restaurangerna. Jag vill ge hotellet ***.

Great stay, we loved it so much that we extended our stay for an extra 10 nights on top of the original 9. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great facilities for kids. Really great massages at the spa. It’s postioned on top of a steep hill but they have a shuttle. Lovely pool too. I would stay there again. Bar drinks can be very expensive, good happy hour at the pool but outside of this it’s very expensive. Also did not like being charged for the individual activities at the Kids Club. Virtual Reality/charity shop should be repurposed as Muay Thai boxing/gym extension.

The staff are friendly and the food is decent. However, overall the hotel is not 5 stars. The TV is old and has a very poor choice of channels. The room also was inconvenient to arrive to with two separate lifts (one of which wasn’t working). There is also a large hill to climb if walking back to the hotel. Overall decent but not great.

The hotel was on top of a steep hill For anyone with mobility issues, this could be a problem. They did provide a shuttle down to the beach, which ran every 30 minutes

Great hotel for families! They put every thought for kids from kids bedding, toys, new indoor playground to activities in the play room. Staff are friendly and great!

Excellent service from friendly staff. Scooter parking with security guard. Amazing pool with swim up bar and sun lounges. Room cleaning and water restock daily. Close proximity to beach, markets and restaurants.

Safe heaven for people worried about tsunami

Lovely hotel and the best and most helpful and welcoming staff. Cozy and quiet place even though it’s very close where everything happens. Great activities for kids too. Only minus is that there’s a lot of Russians. That’s up to you to decide wether that’s a minus. Would definitely come back.

While the hill to and from the hotel is quite steep, it is walkable. Great proximity to Kata Beach, a free shuttle option as well. Incredible staff, attentive and courteous. A few minutes walk to the main dining & nightlife streets, and to the Kata night market as well. Overall, we would recommend this property and stay again!

very kid- friendly

We had a great time, the staff were friendly, the facilities were great and the breakfast buffet every morning had plenty of options. If you want to do all inclusive you would never have to leave the resort. Our three year old was in the pool everyday, the beach is just down the steep hill. (Prefered Karon than Kata personally. Food options and night market dish three hill have cheaper food if you want to explore like us. Request the more updated rooms if possible, a few things wrong or not working in our first room but they were happy to move us. We have two six month old girls so couldn't take advantage of the resort as much as we'd like. Kids five years old and up would be better.

Good breakfast spread, enjoyed stay with kids, one point to note, although it’s close to shops and restaurants, it’s on a hill and quite a steep one, so take note. Situated between both kata beach, 5-10 walk from hotel and Karon beach which is slightly further and probably best get a shuttle from hotel

We had a nice stay at Novotel. Very friendly staff. The check-in experience was great, we especially appreciated the little gift for our daughter. The room was spacious but rather dated with constant humidity, which is due of course to climate. The hotel is very clean, but there was some mold in the bathroom or a strong humidity smell in the wardrobe. The dateness of the room was compensated by the common facilities which were very modern and nicely decorated. The hotel has a modern kids play room with many interesting toys and very clean. Food was good, both the breakfast and the halfboard option. Breakfast had a wide selection of eggs, fruits, bread, pancakes, many veggies. We liked the concept of a la carte with 2 courses for dinner, there was enough choice in the menu. The canopy bar serves very tasty cocktails which are around 10 euros. The location is close to the beach but it is uphill, which with a small child is not optimal. The hotel offers a shuttle every 30 min to the beach, but the downside was that with the kid we were dependent on the shuttle, which made us leave the hotel less.

Adored and loved the Spa and staff. Made my stay wonderful. Loved the location and shuttle to the beach. Location to town…. Pretty much a great hotel with lots of family fun. The only bad part is their internet, which is spotty and is closer to dialup internet days. Their pillows are firm, if you like those, you are in heaven… Great place, i would definitely stay there again
