Shangri La Chiang Mai

Is this a beautiful hotel well located with incredible grounds. It is very peaceful and tranquil hotel with very attentive staff.

Amazing hotel!! Amazing service!! If I go back to Chiang Mai I would definitely stay at Shangri-La.

Amazing hotel and staff!!

The property itself is very nice. However, my encountered with the check in staff was not pleasant. I was upset that I was forced to pay extra for my daughter. I had indicated 4 people for the reservation, but the staff forced me to pay extra because my daughter was considered an adult since she’s over 12 years old. I was offered 2 options, pay $150 for the extra person or $250 for a room upgrade. Also, the staff didn’t care to offer complimentary breakfast for my 10 year old son even when we have 3 paying adults with free breakfast. The guy wanted me to pay $30 extra if we want breakfast for my son. All in all, I didn’t feel the staff was welcoming, helpful or kind. I just felt like how much more money we can squeeze out of you.

Ni and the team made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped inside. We had multiple check-ins throughout our stay and little surprises for the kids. We LOVED the pool - the slide is super fun. And the breakfast buffet was great - all staff we interacted with were absolute angels! Lovely property but the staff really set this place apart. Well done team!

Overall the staff, service, amenities, spa, kid activities and in-hotel restaurants were wonderful. The only complaints might be around the air conditioning usually in the morning. Being on the top floor paying for a premium service/room I would have expected comfort level of temperatures throughout the floor and elevator at any time of day. Hotter temperatures kind of ruin the experience if you sweat on the way down to the club lounge for breakfast right after taking a shower.

Centrally located, some places within walking distance and others with a short taxi ride. The pool was very nice, the food was okay to good. breakfast is recommended. Overall the hotel was dated, but everything in my room functioned. The AC wasn't great, but it kept the room from over heating.

Amazing experience like no other. Every detail was thought of. Our rooms were spectacular and the service was above exceptional. The night market was less than 3 minute walk. Highly recommend this property. Book with absolute confidence.

Not to a usual Shangri La standard. Recently stayed at Shangri-la Sydney for the same price! Rooms are very tired. Bath towels and bed linen of standard quality. No bed topper/softener. Towels very small and standard. Breakfast very basic and not high quality sadly and coffee very weak. Sadly not getting value for money here. Receptionist couldnt find my reservations upon arrival. Could see room assigned on registration card but he tried to sell an 'upgrade' to which i said no thanks but then got the same room as shown and said it was a complimentary upgrade!! Security : walk in lobby and scan all bags ... park underground and scanners are off so whats the point ??

This hotel is almost perfect! Super friendly staff, beautiful grounds that are maintained properly, spacious and clean rooms, comfortable bed and pillows, massive breakfast buffet offers very tasty food… we truly enjoyed our stay here!

The hotel and staff weren’t quite up to the shang Ri la standards. Property was really dated. Service hospitality was lacking. Nothing bad, just not close to the service standards I expected from their other properties.

Amazing property for a family holiday. Staff was amazing, facilities amazing and it’s in a great, convenient location.

The property has a quiet and well maintained garden for a comfortable walk. The staff is friendly and pool facility is clean. There are slides in the pool area for children. The room is spacious and some rooms have own balcony. The morning breakfast item choices are less attractive with limited choices of western food.

Very good hotel thats well located, with lots of local restaurants, spas, etc within a 5 minute walk or less. We got upgraded to the Club floor, thanks to Expedia. The room was very nice, but one area of difficulty was the ac - 2 out of 3 nights, we had to call maintenance as the ac was not cooling at all. I think the hotel should have handled thst better by either moving us, or comprehensively looking at the issue during the day, as it was absurd to have the issue occurring again the next night. Overall a good stay though.

The ShangriLa is a great hotel, with beautiful gardens, nice views from the rooms, excellent spa, nice clean pool and the Elephant parade store. Wondeful hotel !!

The hotel room a very comfortable and spacious, the Horizon club Concierge was excllent. We loved the breakfast and the restaurants. The only issue was the mosquitos in the lobby and restaurants.
