Hilton Pennywell St Louis at the Arch

Front staff were incredible. Bar small but typical high prices. Location very good. No views in our room, just brick walls. Gym acceptable, clean and half dozen machines.

Cousins reunion. 18 of us. Hotel pretty. But I found a shoe in our room under the luggage rack. And for breakfast there was one waiter. He seemed to be doing everything!! We asked for check and only one came. We had trouble figuring out who’s tab for our drinks in the lobby bar. On the way to cardinal game.

Two reasons for less than a 5 star rating: the area outside around the hotel was dirty and unsightly and our bathroom shower had hair on the shower wall from last patron. The staff was 5 star, the inside of the hotel was beautiful. We had a corner room so it was larger than others and very comfortable. It was within walking distance to the Arch and the Busch Stadium. Close to restaurants.

Was not able to sleep all night due to construction and very loud noise next to the property When I asked front desk for a better room or somewhere the other side, she was not interested in even talking to me

They gave my dad my room. I had pre-paid. They gave me his upgraded room unbeknownst to me and charged me for it. I thought it was for incidentals. So I ended up paying for both rooms. He wasn’t pleased with the tiny room he got (I’m thrifty). They should have verified his reservation before issuing room keys.

We had a very good family weekend stay at the Pennywell. Our group was 9 visitors occupying 5 rooms. Hotel staff was very helpful and courteous.

We loved our stay. Super easy check in & beautiful room. Will definitely stay here again!

Overall we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and the room was quiet and comfortable. Getting to the hotel was a mess with the traffic and construction going on downtown, but once we were parked in the garage conveniently across the street my anxiety was quickly resolved.

Very nice place. I love the history of the building. It’s beautiful. The restaurant was excellent! Food and drinks were excellent. Our room (409) has a damp smell unfortunately.

Great location and wonderful service! The architecture is really unique and the bank vault blew the kid’s minds!

The hotel was very clean. The food was excellent but room service was a little pricey. It was within easy walking distance to multiple site within the city including the ball park, the Arch and several beautiful parks.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend at the end of March. If you’re headed to St Louis to see The Arch, this is a great place to stay! It’s a super easy walk, just a couple blocks away from The Arch and the river. The hotel was nicely decorated with a bar and a restaurant-though they never seemed to be active and when we did stop in to see if they had tea one afternoon they did not. The room was spacious and the facilities in the bathroom were very nice and it was very clean. We had breakfast included and the food was really good and the service was great but it took an hour one morning to get our food, so beware if you are on a time crunch you may want to ask what the wait is before you sit down and order. There were other restaurants in walking distance, Carmines was great, Brewhouse was ehhh… All in all, the hotel was very nice and we would stay here again if we found ourselves in St Louis.

Not sure what happened to this hotel because it looked/sounded so nice/high end yet the only thing that reflected this- the prices. $94 for 2 waters, steak, & salmon but received a bent knife. Sounds petty but hear me out. We arrived & waited 15m for someone to check us in. There was a valet worker walking around the front desk but he didn't say a word to us or tell anyone to come up to assist us. Our room looked beat up. The lamp between the beds would not turn. The bathroom fan didn't work but they lied telling me it was silent (steam wasn't being pulled in), no body wash in the dispenser. The freezer was over frosted & unusable. The elevator was very dirty in the corners & walls. The down arrow on our floor didn't light-up/work. That night I was pick-pocketed (not their fault but comes into play soon) & my money, bank cards, etc were stolen the 1st night that we were there just 2 blocks from the front of the hotel. I told the front desk, security, & valet about the incident. They didn't act concerned/helpful. Fast forward to check-out day- they had the audacity to call my room & wake us all up at 8a to tell me that my card was being declined! Normally this would not be so bad if not just the morning before... right after being pic in-pocketed and driving all day... The alarm started going off at 4a & it kept going off! Valet was quick. Manager let us use her flat iron. Quiet rooms. No discounts or apologies offered!
