Homewood Suites by Hilton Schenectady

Started one night and it did the job.

Great location! Rooms were like suites. Lots of space. Very Clean. Great breakfast! Will stay again

Location is fine. Foul musty odor, dirty carpets. Gross

Nothing was appealing…

We arrived at the property after 1:00 AM, following a drive of over 10 hours with three small children. Initially, everything seemed fine until I realized that the exterior door to our room could be opened without using the key card. I went down to reception, and the lady at the desk mentioned that she could offer a full refund if we wanted to move to another hotel, or she could have someone fix it in the morning. As you can imagine, moving to another hotel in the middle of the night with three kids was not an option, so I agreed to have it fixed the next day. When we left in the morning, no one was at reception. Upon returning in the evening, I checked the door again and found the same issue with the handle. I went back to reception and spoke with a different lady, who had no idea about the problem. She didn’t even bother to call or check with the previous staff to see what had been done or why no one had come to address the issue. To me, this clearly shows that they do not care at all about the safety or concerns of their guests. Honestly, what surprised me the most was that this happened at a Hilton property, where you expect a minimum level of service and security, especially for a hotel charging over $500 CAD for just two nights. The staff's attitude was as if we were staying at a hostel — completely careless and unhelpful. Moreover, the breakfast was the worst we’ve experienced so far in any hotel.

The sofa bed is very, very uncomfortable; it's impossible to sleep there. At 9:48, they started clearing everything from breakfast, and by 9:50 there was no juice left, only water, even though breakfast was supposed to end at 10h00

Loved the stay

It was a great property and quiet, had a good selection for breakfast and over looked the water. I’ll definitely this hotel again when visiting my friends in NY again.

Staff was helpful and the breakfast was very good.

Didn’t salt or sand the sidewalk or parking lot t told front desk said they are not responsible for that

I like that they allow pets and the rooms are spacious

Great Service

The hotel was nice in a great location. They failed to mention it was under construction but I stayed one night so it wasn’t a big deal.

Indoor pool would have been nice to use, if it were emphasized as Indoor on the site and not merely the presence of a pool.

Compared to last year at this time, it was much better (as in room cleanliness). I was greeted graciously, and the room was ready. Slightly disappointed about the updating/construction that was going on but the amenities seemed to be the same but I didn’t have time to appreciate them. I only did breakfast on Sunday and that was fine. The bath in the room was spacious and plenty of grab bars for seniors - nice touch! Only wish it didn’t have a tub - would have preferred to have a limited step in rather than a step over. Nice that room was on 5th floor but when the trains go by you can really hear them. I didn’t mind them being a train fan but others may not like it. Nothing you can do about that! Overall, much better then last year!

Always love coming here, love my room and the huge fridge with freezer , will always come back
