Hotel Metropole

Hotel Metropole is a favorite of ours. The location is excellent, the staff is accommodating and the rooms are excellent. Although our room was next to the spa, there was no noise perceived in our room from others using it. I do wish that there was daily cleaning service.

Quiet and Comfortable

The location was prime! It’s attached to a collection of restaurants, shops, and cafes (and an arcade). Live music below in the evenings… and very close to the beach. The staff were all very kind!

The cafe with seating area was very pleasant, and there was a good live band while we were there on a weeknight. Filling out water bottles was nice, plenty of towels for spa and beach, and a good continental breakfast as well. Thank you!

Our stay was short but sweet..the hotel was in great location . The room was clean . Best part of our stay there was the staff, they were so helpful and friendly.

This is an older hotel, but beautifully maintained and immaculately clean. The location is perfect, right on the Avalon waterfront and an easy walk to all that Avalon has to offer. Our room had a bit of an ocean view, which was greatly appreciated. The staff is friendly and helpful, but there were a couple of things. First, maid service is only by request, which we did not know, so the room went uncleaned for a couple days. Second, the included continental breakfast offers the barest minimum of choices and could easily be improved with a bit more variety.

Decent continental breakfast. Clean and very spacious room. Beds were fairly comfortable. Nice fireplace and dining table with chairs. Overall pretty decent for a 3 star hotel. Definitely overpriced. But I think that’s common of the Catalina Island as a whole.

TERRIBLE BEDS!!!!!! The worst bed we have ever paid to sleep on, -50/10. This hotel really cheated out on the comfort measures. An absolute waste. The bed was springy and had zero support. It was so bad we had to book a $300+ couples massage after our stay because we both had severe back, neck, and sciatic pain. The bathroom was dirty and the floors were dirty. There were cobwebs on the curtains. The staff needs to do a better job and cleaning and they need to replace the beds ASAP!!!! This stay was terrible, never again. We come every year and we will be writing this place off. Save your money! It’s also super loud because it’s right over a shopping center.

Nothing was particularly great nothing was particularly bad. It was just an average room, with average staff. I would recommend it because it has a good location, and is well priced.

Great hotel! Great location!

Hotel is centrally located to all shops and restaurants so it’s not the most quiet. Air conditioner was very loud. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Food options were great including online ordering at the coffee shop that’s next door. Nice selection at Continental breakfast offered to guests. Friendly staff.

Customer service oriented, great services, loved our room, easy access to everything! We will be back!

If you want an amazing experience come here to book because it was very convenient . You're on mainland you walk up the street and you see everything. I recommend to get the view of the beach. Staff is vey kind and friendly. 100/100

The hotel was clean. Water pressure was amazing. The staff was very nice, and they have a continental breakfast. I will stay here again.

My husband and I went to Catalina Island for our 12 Anniversary. We’re seniors. We picked the Metropol because it was right on the water. Also has an elevator. Restaurants and shopping is right there. The room was great. The bed was as comfortable. Pillows were good. Everyone at the hotel was very friendly. Live band played in the hotel courtyard. Very nice hotel.
