I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel! I had read reviews on other sites that were really negative, so I I was nervous. Fortunately, we loved it and would go back. You can take an elevator right up to the historic district. We discovered a fun beach across the river/lake. There are two walkable bridges that will take you there. The only thing I didn’t like about the hotel room was that the shower water didn’t get hot enough. Also, bedding could have been a bit thicker. Other than that, we were very happy. We took a trip to Placerville and to the Gold Bug Mine, and also to Coloma State Historic Park during our visit.

During the day jackhammering from pool repair. during the night, you can hear people walking above us and talking next to us TV blaring till 1:30 am appears not to have any sound .insulation between the floors or the walls. I know the hotel has no control of the inhabitants making noise, but it does make for a miserable night.

We came for a mother daughter getaway. We had a fantastic time. Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room. We really enjoyed being able to walk to town. The lake is beautiful!

I have my out of town guest stay here for years but the last couple of years the staff is awful. And they dont do maid service daily i dont think i will use them anymore
