Motel 6 Niantic, CT - New London

This motel was the most disgusting place I ever been too. First night I worked an event until late and didnt pay any attention to the room. I literally came in and threw myself on the bed. I never sleep under any bedding when I stay somewhere. Second night when i went to take a shower after the show I realize the shower was completely dirty which made me start to really look at the motel. Needless to say i slept in my car. I found cigarette holes in not only the bedding but also the beds. When we lifted the mattress we found a used condom! I literally threw up and ran out the room right after. I am actually going to be contacting the health department because we found blood and god knows what else all over the beds and walls. Absolutely horrible place!

Great stay

Ended up going to a different hotel. Had people outside our door screaming and arguing for over an hour and had a couple instances with people clearly on drugs acting super sketchy and scared my kids. Two of the towels were stained, as well as the bed sheets.

Upon check out, the clerk was asleep at the counter. Upon check in, there were several parties checking in - I needed to use the restroom, and was told I had to wait until I could be checked in to use the bathroom in my room. After check in, I was given directions to my room, and when I asked the clerk to repeat herself because I didn’t quite get it, she repeated herself with impatience and abrupt hand gestures.

We never entered the room. The property had people living in the rooms, we saw on lady receiving her mail. It looked run down, and it was definitely not a family friendly.

Good value

The property was conveniently located near a lot of dining and shopping locations but the room smelled like mildew as soon as you walked in. Linens were pretty old and worn out, definitely not white anymore. There were holes in the sheets.

Hardest bed I’ve ever slept on. The wood floor would have been more comfortable. Floor was extremely dirty like it hadn’t been swept in weeks.

Plenty of parking, quiet, clean, just needs uodated rooms but for a short stay it was perfect. Staff very attentive and friendly.

Front desk gal was very nice and the property’s exterior seems fairly well maintained. Our room was clean enough but very worn. I was visiting my cousin and watched tv for a while in the second full size bed. The mattress had lost support and I would have slept poorly in it.

All staff that I dealt with were nice and helpful. Room was clean and properly was quiet.

Only stayed one night. Sufficient for that.

Convenient and staff friendly

First thing - there were black hairs all over the towels that you could actually see thru they were so thin. No coffee in room. No snack or breakfast at all. Bed was horrible. Oldest, lumpiest mattress ever! Windows dirty. No shampoo or conditioner. One tiny bar of soap. Door lock iffy. Just too much $$ for such a filthy place.

I have stayed at this particular motel 6 numinous times over the last 20 years have not in the last 2. It is under new management and i was extremely disappointed. First I got there and they messed up my room reservation I had a double bedroom they gave me a single for my fiancé, myself and my daughter whom is (19) so we had to share a bed, they were “sold out” even tho my reservation showed the 2

Room to park my semi-truck

Place is in a good location but not in the best condition. First room they gave us had burnt and dirty bathtub, the molding on floor was peeling off, there was crumbs and hair on the bed. It was clearly not cleaned. There’s was grime on the tv controller and it smelled mildewy and like cigarettes.The sheets are old and stained and to tell you the truth, I didn’t feel safe as we were in the back side of the motel and it seems like they rent them out as weekly rentals like, people live there. That being said, I rang the front desk and he got me another room. This one however did not have a microwave and fridge but was much cleaner that the prior. Room key didn’t work though. But he was kind and didn’t hesitate in moving us to another room. Would I stay here ever again? Absolutely not. But I guys if you need a room for the night as an emergency, it ain’t the worst!
