Great stay - only complaint is we ran out of toilet paper and didn’t have an option to ask someone for clean towels since no staff on site. However, was walkable to downtown, hot tub was nice and room was clean and comfortable.

Great easy, affordable, low-frills stay in Leadville for a ski weekend at Copper. Staff was incredibly friendly. Room was clean. Would stay again.

Nothing fancy but it was clean which is always important for us. No fridge or microwave in the room but they had a community area to use. That was unique. The king room we stayed in was cozy and very comfortable. We absolutely recommend and I know we will be staying there again.

We booked this property for the hot tub! We did not use the hot tub because it was dirty. It stunk really bad.

I was hoping for a fridge and microwave in my room. The shared outdoor setup was a little odd and fridge was not cold. No management on site of the property.

This is one “inn” that doesn’t live up to its name—or its price. As an experienced traveler (over 20 countries) I don’t often write hotel reviews, but my stay at the Old Tale Inn was so underwhelming that I feel compelled to share my experience to help others make an informed decision. Unfortunately, this so-called "Inn" fell far short of expectations and came across as both misleading and overpriced for what you get. Misleading Advertising First and foremost, this is not an inn or a hotel in any meaningful sense of the word. Calling it such borders on fraudulent. There was no staff presence during my stay—no front desk, no resident manager, no one to assist with even basic needs. The lack of human contact made the entire experience feel eerie and unwelcoming. Poor Directions and Uninviting Exterior The address provided was inaccurate, leading me to a dark, side street marked only by an old, defaced mailbox. The building’s exterior was painted a drab battleship grey, with no trim or signage to indicate it was a place of lodging. The parking lot, accessible via the main highway, was deserted, unlit, and added to the sense of abandonment. Arriving at night felt less like checking into an inn and more like stumbling upon an empty warehouse. The room itself was stark and uninviting, reminiscent of a prison cell. Everything was grey, with minimal decoration to create any sense of warmth or comfort. The amenities were sad: a coffee pot with no coffee or mugs.

The view from the property is great. But the service is off. After hours couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Had no coffee cups for the shared coffee press. Room with fridge and microwave had a single fork and knife and spoon. Rooms are styled well but bathrooms are untouched. Not sure I would stay again for the price and odd service setup. Maybe try other places first.

No human at check-in. There’s a sign that says call a telephone number if need assistance. No one answered our phone calls or the messages we left. Another couple was unable to gain access to their room because they never received the email with the code that allowed entry. And no one responded to their multiple phone calls and messages, forcing them to find another hotel. The room is charmless, cold and antiseptic. Could have spent a few extra dollars for some kind of decoration. The bed squeaked and sagged in the middle. And given no breakfast, a coffee maker would be nice in the room.

Hard to find. No front desk or coffee in the room. Overpriced for an updated motel room. Lights outside the room all night made it hard to sleep. Can hear through the walls. Kitchenette in room was not necessary or useable. Outdated bathroom. For the location and the price, you're better off somewhere else.

Walking distance to everything in Leadville and the room was cosy and clean! The bathroom had a nice big tub to soak in.

Visiting Leadville for a couple of days; location was a short walk to restaurants. Room was exceptionally clean and bed was super comfortable. Really liked being able to park right in front of our room. Online check in was convenient and easy. Room was a little expensive for what it was, but would definitely stay here again.

Not what I expected. We were the only ones there it seemed. Would’ve like my coffee in my room. Some string lights outside to add to the charm would be cute. Overall it was a sweet little place. Wish I’d taken advantage of the hot tub that was basically in front of our room. Had problems getting tv to work but called Nandy had quick resolution. Liked the ability to log into room with a code as our planes were delayed and we checked in late. Like that. It’s a very cute town!!

As always I enjoyed the place. But this time there were a few issues. 1 the Hottub was very dirty. And the toilet in my room kept getting plugged so we had to plunger it a number of times.
