Sheraton Philadelphia University City Hotel

Despite the ongoing construction we had a great stay at the Sheraton. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location of the hotel was perfect for our college tours.

They are improving the hotel between 9 and 5, but we were not in our room at that time.

The hotel is nice and clean, the staffs are helpful.

Hotel is renovating during our stay, parking is not available and front desk said valet parking only but nobody at valet parking for at least 1 hour, we have to park 2 block away. At 9 am, renovation noise woke me up, kind of annoying. Room AC has an issue but somebody come up fixed it.

No parking stinks also no breakfast

Expedia did not disclose that the property was being renovated and it was super noisy, hard to sleep. Also the Expedia rate was well above booking direct, which would have been fine if the stay was great but is tough swallow when it’s bad.

Excellent location proximate to both Penn and Drexel campuses. A short run to the Schuylkill Riverfront Trail which is a great place to run if you’re into that. Plenty of delicious restaurants in the neighborhood. It is undergoing renovations but we weren’t in hotel during the day so the noise we were warned about didn’t bother us. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

All the staff were friendly and informative. They went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is undergoing construction, which wasn’t told to me prior to check-in. Because of the construction, the hotel alarm went off in the middle of the night and the hotel had to be evacuated. I had to walk 14 stories down to the street and stand in the rain with all the other hotel guests. The hotel offered nothing to us for the inconvenience. In addition, the construction caused a leak on my floor saturating the carpet. Loud fans were placed right outside my door for the duration of my stay. Finally, there was no hot water the entire time that I was there. I had to sponge bathe because the water was too cold to actually stand in. I’m sure most of this all relates to the construction, which was very noisy during the day, but did quiet down in the evening. There’s also no place to even get a cup of coffee in the hotel. I think it would be nice to at least have basic coffee service. Honestly, I’ve had nicer stays at roadside motels that cost a fraction of what it cost to stay here. The one positive was the staff. They were lovely and very helpful every time I interacted with them. But, until this construction is done, I would not recommend staying at this hotel.

Property under construction- which is advertised, however, there was water leakage in hall and construction started at 6am, not 8 am as advertised. Extremely noisy.

Workers on the floor drilling in front of our room at 7:30 am. Complained at the front desk. No one did anything.
