Sun and Sand Resort Oceanfront Suites

If this is the only option, last hotel available - don't waste $1 on this location! Absolutely horrible

The hotel is in bad condition. Suite 106 everything was dirty and falling out. I pay for 2 stay 1.7k for what we get that price is really high. I feel cheated!!

This not a 5 star hotel. Its an older building that is in need of some love. But! The location is awsome, the view was awsome, the indoor pool was dirty, ( was 4th of july weekend, it was very heavily used to wash off after the beach.) But we enjoyed our stay. Not 5 star. But the check in was easy, staff was great, parking was great. The view from the run down balcony was awsome. This not 5 star, but if u there for the beach and not so much the room, it was an awsome stay.keep in mind, 4th of july weekend is busiest of the season. Ill say again, not 5 star, but we definitely had a great time. The staff was awesome.

So dirty and beyond in need of renovations. Unsure how these rooms and hallways are up to safety codes with wires hanging around everywhere, pipes sticking out from the wall, patches of wall being gone, door handles missing, bugs and marijuana all over the ground, AC not working, etc.

Nice property

Great location. We had a blast. Older building. Room needed some work. Overall property needed some work. Pool was dirty. But! We had fun. Everything u needed was in walking distance. Trolley ride to and from the aquarium was nice.

The lady when you check in at daytime her name is lena, she is amazing! she had the best attitude and energy she helped out right on out and was so polite!! now on the other hand there’s a guy i didn’t get his name but he works night shift for clock in and he wasn’t so friendly, made me feel stupid for wanting a parking space i had paid for already, and was pushy. the hotel overall is okay, we booked last minute and had a pretty okay stay. there was some dirt on the bed sheets, paint coming off the walls and i didn’t want to walk around barefoot in the hotel room. the tvs are only cable and the living room tv didn’t even have a remote. the door to open the room was very very hard to open and close, and the room was not quite at all, other than road noise which was expected, the ceiling kept almost sounding like it was going to break and fall on us and kept waking me up more than the cars outside. there’s only one elevator for 11 floors so if you’re in a rush, don’t be. parking can be limited and is very tight so if you have a truck or a big vehicle i wouldn’t recommend unless you find parking inside.

Pricey for the amount. Nice view of the ocean. Floors were greasy and dirty. Bathroom just ok. Staff were nice. I wouldn’t go back unless the room was remodeled or cheaper

The hotel didn’t look like the pictures, the rooms were not cleaned what so ever we didn’t get room service so we had to use the same towels for our whole stay. The lady at the front desk said she was going to put us on the sixth floor and ended up on the fifth floor because the room had a water leak. We paid 1000 to stay there with no body wash the toilet clogged within 30 minutes of being there. I would not have went there if I knew there was false advertisement. Not worth the price

Great proximity to the board walk, and beach. Spacious accommodations. Cleanliness could be improved. Hotel provides great security to ensure every paying customer has a place to park. O

Affordable and right on the water, beautiful view

Such a terrible hotel. Very unhelpful and rude management. This hotel is garbage. The AC broke in our room the first night and a smoke alarm was going off all night. I called the front desk and nobody can help before 10:30 am the next day and the guy hung up the phone on me. There was a roach in our room. The elevator broke for an entire day and not even a sign was put up on the elevator to let people know. Rude front desk lady refused to have toilet paper sent to our room because nobody gets in until 10:30 am. What a miserable stay at a crappy motel.

The concierge is very very helpful, respectful check in went quick especially that this was my first trip to Virginia Beach. The rooms are very welcoming and clean I am very satisfied I'll definitely come again and recommend!

Awful place. Do not go here!! It’s not clean at all!! Whoever gave a good review stayed at a different place. From the front desk to the rooms it’s gross. The beds had sand. The floors had dirt on it. Not renavated at all! And no front desk staff is available, you have to pay for everything additional. Place has people hanging out by the doors. No security. Also if you make book through Expedia they won’t give u money back at all. They said because the hotel took my card they couldn’t do anything. Whatever you do do not stay at this property unless you want bed bugs and a nasty dirty place to stay. Pictures posted!!!! Whoever is the manager should find a different career.

I love the fact that it was right there on the beach. Beautiful view of the beach from the balcony. But the actual room was very dated and poorly kept. I could hear the people in the hallway and next door to my room. Furniture needs to be replaced. The water pressure in the bathroom shower and sink was very poor. The beds were tiny. 1 remote for 2 TVs. The tub had a spot that was worn down, you could see a brown spot where the white gone.

Ocean view but pool not open

We chose this hotel specific to the price, location and view. We booked an oceanfront suite. The hotel attempted to charge us for our stay well before checkin. We arrived a little late around 5:30p. The hotel elevator is life or death, 3 day out of order. Our rm smelled like mildew/urine, the bathroom was the worst, a constant odor like something is wrong with the plumbing. Immediately I run in to pee, there was no TP, no hand soap. The kitchen sink was used to wash my hands just long enough to realize it didn’t drain, that water stayed the entire duration, and couldn’t use it. The room was dirty from the couch, table, bathtub, even the beds had yellow stains on the bed protectors. The pull out mattress is literally springs, zero comfort. The pool was disgusting, a thick foamy layer across the top, brown across the edges and bottom, it’s not safe. Housekeeping was never seen on our floor, never checked in, I had to ask for TP, trash bags, clean linen etc. I was told they’d bring us clean sheets and blankets on 2 separate days, again we never seen anyone. I often seen the hotel staff sitting on a bench together facing the beach.Why stay? Leaving seemed more of a hassle than just staying, it was a holiday, we had driven 10hr’s,our focus was outside the room,my kids were anxious and so on,we chose to rough it. Icing on the cake, the first time we heard from hotel staff,was to tell us one of them hit our parked car 30min before checkout.Later staff try to bribe for a pos review.

The manager was really nice and helpful. We will return
