dated carpet, lack of ventilation in hallway, smells like mildew in the room and hallway even with portable air filters. One room had mold all over the grout in the bathroom. Room was dark with buildings blocking light. Some rooms are not as dark and cleaner but all are still smelly from mildew

I stayed at Hotel Nikko Saigon with my sister for a family vacation, and overall, we appreciated our stay. The staff members were kind and helpful. We experienced an issue with the temperature and humidity in our room, and the team responded promptly to resolve it, making our room much more comfortable.
We truly enjoyed the breakfast buffet—it offered a wide variety of dishes, drinks, fruits, and desserts. It was, without a doubt, one of the best breakfasts we’ve had at a five-star hotel in Saigon, and we stayed in over five during our trip to Vietnam. The dining staff were exceptionally kind and attentive. A special mention goes to Chef Nam, who brought us special “off-the-menu” items every morning during our stay. We unfortunately forgot the name of the waiter who served us, but he was wonderful and often brought us treats directly from Chef Nam in the kitchen.
The one aspect of the stay that we didn’t enjoy was the Executive Lounge on the 23rd floor. The experience there felt very self-service—even during cocktail hours, guests were expected to mix their own drinks, which felt out of place for a hotel of this caliber. The lounge was also quite crowded, and children were allowed, making it much noisier than other hotel lounges we’ve experienced, where children under 12 are not permitted. There were few staff members present in the lounge, which made the experience less refined compared to the rest of the hotel.
That said, aside from the lounge, Hotel Nikko is lovely!
