Quite near the Lao Cai Railway Station. Basic but clean

Staff is super friendly and helpful, helped us to organise sightseeing tours and let us leave our luggage while we went to Sapa. Breakfast is good and you can order Vietnamese coffee. Great location. Rooms are well equipped and laundry service is fast.

Good basic hotel close to the train station, rooms are the usual Vietnamese fare with kettle and food basket (payable) hot shower basin and toilet in a wet room with complimentary shampoo, toothbrush and paste. Only odd thing was the plastic sheet on the bed which made a noise when moving.

Arrived early in Lao Cai (sleeper train), arrived at hotel to drop bag off and was greeted by a young man asleep behind the reception desk. Barely spoke to us and just laid back down. Left bags then went back later to check in, chap at reception couldn’t understand us and we had to speak to someone over the phone so he understood we had a booking there (how he could not tell from names on passports). Gave us key cards and we found our own way to room. We were on the 5th floor, and it must have been the same floor that people also lived on, kids running around shouting, people shouting to each other day and night slamming doors. Someone walked in on us in the room, didn’t knock just let themselves in, considering we saw know one else we were surprised. Shower barely worked no pressure. Tried to get us to pay when we checked out, had to show we had already paid via this app The hotel was clean so that was a good thing.

It’s close to railway. That’s it: room clean. As I said it’s a goof strip for train to hanoi
