Hotel Indigo CARDIFF by IHG, an IHG Hotel

Amazing first time experience at both Hotel and millennium Stadium…such a prime central location. On issue not at all linked with the hotel is the city ctrs v busy roads, which include lots of bus lanes which aren’t obvious, hence receiving a fine/ticket a few days later! Apart from this, perfection at its best and would definitely stay there again :)

From time of arrival to check out, our stay was perfect. Rooms were very clean and well decorated. Restaurant and Bar service exceptional, Cody makes a perfect Irish coffee....

Great stay. Courteous staff. Always quick to respond to questions or concerns. Breakfast is/was amazing. Breakfast staff as well.

This is the loveliest hotel I have ever stayed in! Rooms are immaculate and well furnished. Waterfall shower is amazing. The terrace bar on the 6th floor is stylish and a really good spot for a drink.

Very convenient location for central visit Staff were great. Cardiff and Queen street not as nice as it used to be but hotel is great. Second time staying here and will do so in the future.

We needed two rooms. It would of been nice. If they put us next to each other. We were 3 floors apart.

This was our first trip to Cardiff and we loved it. Hotel Indigo is located near a lot of restaurants and Castle Cardiff - as well as a bus stop that can take you to other castles in the area. it was also easy to get to from the train station. The staff was very nice and helpful.

The staff and room were very nice and spacious. We had a little trouble with plugged sinks that would not drain and empty containers for shampoo and conditioner when we first checked in. Staff took care of these things but I think the room should be ready - especially for a 6 day stay. The location and convenience to central Cardiff is awesome. Overall our stay was very pleasant and our concerns were addressed in a timely manner !

The hotel was situated right in the City Centre but our room was quiet. The staff were all lovely - reception, bar and wait staff all very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and had some lovely touches which we appreciated - Welsh toiletries and decor. Would definitely stay again.

Rooms werent the cleanist (found a used fake eyelash on the floor and general dirt) window was broken and room generally looked tired. Staff were good and breakfast was good.

We arrived in the evening and no one answered the building intercom. Luckily a guest left a couple of minutes later so we got in. Overall the room was clean but the bathroom had lots of hairs from previous visitors. On going to bed I could not believe how awful the pillows were. Incredibly lumpy and uncomfortable. We phoned reception to ask for better pillows and about 20 minutes later a single equally awful pillow was dropped off by a staff member who said nothing. Woke up with a sore neck. Asked the reception again for pillows the next day and said there were no others as they were fully booked. Staff not exactly rude but lacking the usual friendly nature of hospitality staff. No question on check out to ask about our stay, but perhaps they are used to the same feedback. It's a shame as a lovely hotel and location, but an incredibly uncomfortable sleep because the basics were wrong. Not up to the usual IHG standard.

Great hotel convenient and comfortable for an impromptu visit to Cardiff.

Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Very clean with daily room service, and central to Cardiff centre. I would definitely stay here again! Personal preference is that I would chose a room with a view.

The hotel is located in an arcade with some curious art work on the walls. It was quite difficult to spot when negotiating the roads with sat nav and with taxis zooming in and out. We were disappointed with parking - £14 after discount for 3 hrs. The first room we were given was a nice room but no view. It had frosted glass and had a king size bed. I washed my hands. The water would not go down the sink and all black bits came out of the plug hole. I removed the plug to see if I could clear the problem the plug hole was totally blocked with gunge. Disgusting. I called reception they could not sort the sink but we could move rooms. We were then offered a much smaller room with a double bed. We have IHG membership which states upgrades etc. available. I asked if there was a possibility of a room with a kingsize bed - the same as the first one - no but we were offered another room which was virtually the same as the second room. Neither room had views of anything other than other bedrooms. The sink worked so we stayed in this room. The shower etc. had small black mould patches growing on parts around it. Considering that the hotel was in the middle of Cardiff, it was very quiet, which was good - probably because the window just backed on to other rooms. The breakfast buffet was good and other items such a poached eggs could be requested. We were not told that there was free on street parking between 8 pm on Saturday evening and 10 am just a short distance away.
