Blitar Station (BL) is a large train station in Kepanjenkidul, Blitar, East Java. This station is located at an altitude of +167 meters. This station is included in the Madiun Operation Area (DAOP) VII, serving all passenger train routes via the Malang-Kertosono line. At this station, there is a depot and a former locomotive turning bridge. Blitar City is famous for the burial of the first president of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno.
Blitar Station, at the same time as Talun Station and Garum Station, was included in Surabaya Operation Area (DAOP) VIII. However, these stations have been included in Madiun Operation Area VII since August 1st 2016.
Starting from July 15th 2023, Blitar Station will no longer be a Transit Station. Before that, passengers train from Tulungagung or Kediri who want to go to Malang must first transit to Blitar Station. But this rule will not be enforced starting from July 15th 2023.
This station is also accessible through public transportation and bus, making it easier for passengers to get easy access.
