Sribilah Train
Sribilah Train is a form of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) service for inter-city trip Medan-Rantau Rapat, both departure and arrival. This train specifically delivers mixed Executive Business and Business class services. This intercity trip is connected by the Sribilah Train via Medan Station and Rantau Prapat Station.
PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) presents KA Sribilah through the Regional Division 1 North Sumatra and Nanggroe Aceh Darusalam. The train which will turn 40 years old operates by using Locomotive BB203, BB302, BB303, and CC201, which has an average speed of 60-70 km per hour. With this potential, KA Sribilah can travel between the inter-city distance of Medan and Rantau Prapat that extends along 268 km, in approximately 5.5 to 6 hours.
Everyday, the Sribilah Train serves trips for three times, both for departures and arrivals. Sribilah Pagi Train departs from Medan Station at 07.52 and from Rantau Prapat Station at 07.20. Daylight departure is available at 15.05 from Medan Station and at 14.30 from Rantau Prapat Station. The last train departs at night, at 22.30 from Medan Station and at 23.10 from Rantau Prapat Station. Throughout this trip, the Sribilah Train stops at at least 13 stations. The stations include Medan Station, Batang Kuis Station, Lubuk Pakam Station, Tebingtinggi Station, Perlanaan Station, Limapuluh Station, Kisaran Station, Pulu Raja Station, Aekloba Station, Membang Muda Station, Padang Halaban Station, Marbau Station and Rantau Prapat Station.
For tickets, the variations of KA Sribilah tickets are quite diverse. This variation adjusts mainly to the choice of class and train subclass (seating position). The KA Sribilah ticket for Executive class is generally sold with the price range between Rp135.000-Rp150.000 per passenger. Meanwhile, Business Class tickets are offered with the cheapest price ranged from Rp110,000 to the most expensive Rp125,000. The most expensive tickets are the most comfortable and with more strategic seating arrangements.

The History of The Train
The Sribilah Train was first operated around 1978. The premiere launch then had used the economy-class train produced by Yugoslavia. KA Sribilah produced by Yugoslavia had a characteristic of vents with a curved corner on the top of the window glass. Currently, the average economy class train is retrofitting into the Business and Executive trains.
The train series
Throughout its history, the Sribilah Trains have several times replaced the towing locomotives. In the early days of operation, KA Sribilah used hydraulic diesel engine locomotives model BB302 and BB303. Today, KA Sribilah uses CC201 and BB203 locomotives at a rate which are limited to 60-70 km per hour. In one circuit, the Sribilah Train will carry one locomotive, four business trains, one food cart and power station, two executive trains, and one luggage cart.
The complete facilities
With the two classes of passengers in one train, the Sribilah Train also provides facilities which are adjusted to the class. The facilities in the Executive class train are certainly more comfortable with passenger seating like in airplanes. The seat positions can be adjusted according to the comfort of each passenger. In each seat there is also a footrest, a reading lamp, a folding table, a blanket, and a pillow. There are also facilities available, both in Executive and Business classes, which are air conditioning, TV, toilets, sockets beside the seats, and cabin baggage. A meal service is available with an additional cost, via a restoration train. Passengers can order a meal and eat it directly on the seat, or particularly in the restoration train.
