Easy and fast exchange.

I am so glad we grabbed this card before arrival. The process is hassle-free—collect at HKIA, then you can start using it for the bus, tram, food, or buy stuff in a convenience store. All cards are valid for 7 years. If you can’t finish the credit, just use it up in the airport before boarding ☺️

You can easily redeem it at the airport counter. I recommend getting an Octopus card, as some stores in Hong Kong don't accept travel cards.

Counter A01 is easy to find. When you exit the baggage claim area, they will tell you to exchange your Octopus card and present the QR code.

Octopus Card ticket counter A13: the staff were unfriendly and did not provide clear instructions

We arrived at 3pm so there was no problem with the card pick-up time. The card pick-up counter was easy to find, from Arrival Hall A, go out and look to the left and you will see counter A01. Picking up the card was very quick, just give the code for the staff to scan, no need to show your passport or any other documents. The only thing is, in the payment confirmation it says to pick up at counter A13 but inside the app it says counter A01. The 2 counters are not far from each other so it's okay. The card is convenient to use, easy to use on all public transport & shopping.

I changed the card quite quickly. I just opened the counter and waited for the change. I was in a hurry that day so I didn't take any pictures.

It's very easy to exchange, just need to provide the barcode, and most importantly no deposit ❤️
