I have stayed here many times in the past. We often stay closer to Alcala if we are traveling with people who want to shop and do sight seeing activities every day. But for a relaxing, stress free time in Oaxaca there is nothing like being a little separated from the bustling downtown, elevated above the city with panoramic views, a great bar, restaurant, room and pool service, and easy parking.

I loved my 5 night stay at the Hotel Victoria. Staff was lovely, responsive and helpful. The rooms were cleaned daily. The old world charm and the grounds were wonderful. The pool is big and beautiful and chilly at this time of year but swimmable on gorgeous grounds. The only reason that I don’t have more 5 star ratings is because the building is old and it’s so challenging in this climate to keep up a property of this size and to keep it affordable. I first had a room with an old moldy bathroom but I requested a room change and received it the same day with a cleaner bathroom. All of which I appreciate. Breakfast daily in the restaurant was a great way to start the day and to end the day at the the bar was great.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The view from our room overlooking the city was incredible and definitely one of the highlights of our visit. The only inconvenience was that the bathtub drain did not work very well, so the water took a while to go down. Aside from that, everything was very good.

Rooms are neglected. Shower are clogged up and flood the bathroom. Coffee makers don’t work or make null flavored coffee. Expensive for what you pay for.

I like the hotel very nice garden.

Very helpful staff. They really tried to help me find my lost phone. Very friendly to foreign travelers. Awesome Mexican breakfast.

What makes this tell my favorite are two things: one is the beautiful outdoor large swimming pool; and the other is the great view and the peaceful setting and it's only a 15 to 20 minute walk down into the center. Thursday through Saturday nights they also have live music at the bar which also has a great view.

Room had a clogged and dirty shower head so we asked ti be changed. Carpet quite dirty and old. Restaurant and bell boys have great attitude and helpful. The reception service is awful!! Pool was freezing. I will seek other options if visiting Oaxaca.

Everything was amazing. We sgayed here as our hotel, plus the wedding and reception was here. The staff was all friendly and courteous. Everything was clean and available when we needed it. I can't say enough good things about the hotel.

Clean, older room. Good bed with very hard pillows. Nice towels. The restaurant is good but some of the staff are very nice and friendly and some are not as service oriented. Food is very good and the presentation is nice.

Had read some other lackluster reviews, but so glad we stayed at Hotel Victoria. We loved our double superior room with full windows and balcony. The grounds and pool area were well maintained, the room was spotless, the food in the restaurant was excellent, and all the staff were so friendly and attentive. A great way to start our month of travels in Oaxaca! Many thanks!

Country-club style grounds on a terraced hillside with ample parking. Large room.

Clean areas all around. Polite staff and clean rooms. Parking was near the room, pool was cold for my own taste but that would depend on the time of the year you go, I went in January so it was to be expected. Traveling near the zocalo was very easy. There is no shops near by since the hotel is on a hillside so get your stuff before you get there. Overall I love the hotel and I would stay there again.

I think the Hotel Victoria is a grand older hotel that needs a facelift such as new carpeting. The staff are fantastic and the property has a beautiful pool and view. Their food could definitely be improved. Their room service food was better than the restaurant.

The grounds are beautifully maintained! The rooms need serious renovations; very dated, although the beds and pillows are really comfortable. The king room needs more electrical outlets and electrical appliances need upgrading throughout.
