Room is clean

Location was amazing. The hotel needs updating and needs curb appeal. Suggestions maybe place some outdoor lounge chairs and some planters. The lobby carpets are filthy either clean them or replace them. I feel the staff could be a little more friendly and greet you when you walk by the lobby. We stayed for 4 nights and not once were we ever greeted with a smile or hello. On a positive note the beds and pillows were very comfortable and the hotel was quiet.

Room was clean and adequately stocked. The air conditioning was excellent! The wait staff at Tempo we courteous and efficient. We had a great stay.

The shampoo and conditioner dispensers are terrible very hard to get anything out but beds were very comfortable. Carpet in any hotel is just nasty would rather laminate or vinyl

Old worn down hotel and the room was stinky. Pool was cute and location great. It’s ok for a one night stay

Good location for visiting the city. Clean, staff was very nice. Food in the Tempo was good.

Parking was terrible, walking a couple of blocks to get to it not really acceptable and then paying $26.

great location. room cleaning offered every 3 rd day- on 5 day stay- not adequate- had to wait long time to get cleaning supplies eg bath soap- towels after r calling front dest.

I definitely would recommend this hotel the rooms and bathrooms are large and updated you will be very pleased stay at the Barrington Hotel

The staff at the Barrington was very kind and helpful and the location was perfect! The restaurant attached was also great. The only points deducted was The room itself, very dated and the double beds old and not comfortable to sleep on. We were unable to find the sauna advertised as well.

Hotel is very dated and there aren’t many amenities. The hotel was full as it was a long weekend, but it wasn’t loud which was good. The pool is very shallow and didn’t feel clean, and the restaurant often closed early. The location is perfect, close to downtown and many attractions. Couldn’t ask for a better location. Stayed for the location but felt the hotel should be nicer for the price we payed.

Hallways were not clean at all and rooms are very dated .Their parking system isn't great

I always book the Barrington when I visit Halifax. It provides the best value from my experience, proximity to the Harbourfront, and Pedway to the Casino/waterfront (especially during the winter) and the Tempo restaurant on the premises has a fantastic staff and the food has always been excellent. The only negatives I have found was no air conditioning in the room and the parking off site. On site with no fee would be a great perk but understand that is impossible. However , the AC issue is fixable. The windows do not open so the room did get stuffy and we woke several times during the night. I don’t recall this always being an issue so there may be AC in some rooms. Also, this would not have been noticed on winter trips. It was definitely a problem this time.
