I read a review that suggested the rooms were 'dated', and that matches our experience. Closet doors were removed, the bolts for shower cutain rod were falling out, the sofa-bed mattress was well used. Worse however, it seems like the staff are used to that standard. It took three calls to get a complete set of bedding for the sofa bed, and when we finally got sheets, they were damp. Other complications were met with a shrug and 'oh that's too bad'.

Parking was not told to use until the day before the stay which i had a handicap person with me. No microwave for our stay which cost us more for food then we were planning First night it was so loud in the halls and rooms until 330 4am and i called down twice with noice complaints and nothing was done so my 2 small children didnt sleep I ask for towels and garbage change on day 2 noone came i had to call again before anyone came Pool was ice cold Customer service was garbage Never again will i stay here or recommend Experience was not great

Dark dingy room with a murphy bed, not what was I was expecting based on previous stays at the Barrington

Upon arrival we noted there was a fridge in the room but no complimentary water available in the room. But we weren’t told about the water cooler and cups that were complimentary so we spent $7 on bottled water The closet door was not on the track, the room was very cold with no extra blankets available in the room either. When validating our parking, it wasn’t communicated that you must leave parking garage by 1pm otherwise you would have to pay an additional fee to exit. This ways important information to note however, we were never informed.

While this property is a bit old and dated, the staff were great, the restaurant was excellent and the kids loved the pool. No on site parking made it difficult with young children as the distance to parking was not convenient.

Room smelt like cigarette smoke. The room was extremely hot. Staff was unwilling to find a solution for the heat. There was no air conditioning, no fan, windows don’t open

Excellent experience, staff is so nice and helpful

Overall this hotel was pretty great. It’s located right in downtown Halifax and has many great things to do that are close by. It was fairly clean although it’s pretty outdated. There was unfortunately no fan in the bathroom and the room had a bit of an older smell. But overall it’s a good hotel for the price and the staff are super friendly!

Beds were very comfortable; unfortunately discovered somebody else’s garbage underneath them when we did our packing for leaving.

Most of the hotel was good. Staff was wonderful and helpful. The parking situation was extremely confusing and the rooms were so hot you could barely stand to sleep there. no ac. Those two things really damped the trip.

Average hotel room, but with the worst parking situation. We had to walk through a mall maze to reach the hotel lobby. Keep in mind that you must pay extra for a pricey parking ticket.

Room was clean, but dated which wasnot a problem for me. The tap water is undrinkable. There's a foul smell to it and an unpleasant taste. It might be nice to have complimentary bottled water in the room as a result. There was a big issue with the parking. The validated ticket I had paid for wouldn't let me out. I went back to the hotel and was told to pay again and he'd credit my account. I thought I misheard him... I was told an emailed receipt would be sent to me on checkout. I'm still waiting for that, so I'll have to call the hotel for a receipt.
