What we loved is right at the beach. What I do not like is sometimes we have seen roaches in the kitchen area.

Best service and staff

Shell Island Resort is a fabulous place to vacation. The views are phenomenal. The staff is friendly and extremely pleasant. They make every effort to make your stay comfortable! I would highly recommend this resort.

The property was right on beach! Staff was friendly. Parking garage on site for reasonable cost. Nice pool area. Only downfall was our room was above the event room and was noisy with pounding music until 11. Events should end no later than nine when noise level is so loud or further sound proofing should be done. We could not enjoy our balcony due to smokers at the event standing below our room smoking should only be allowed away from building.

Always a good venue at the beach…clean, good staff, and easy to navigate.

Beautiful beach. Restaurant was closed at times due to lack of staff. Out of item like jelly or honey. English muffin microwaved and not toasted.Bad odor from one sink drain. Unit had no screens on the sliding door so could not keep it open . Ac hard to regulate. Could not read the control knob on the frig. NO TV directions so could not get news or local channels. For a suite it is very cramped.

i was surprised that the resort did not provide daily maid service.

First, my wife and I wanted to travel to Shell Island Resort for our 40th anniversary. I made the reservation through Expedia. I contacted the front desk manager, Mr. Scott Williamson, who advised that they did not offer any kind of anniversary packages. So I asked him if he would make sure that the flowers I ordered got placed in the room. He was very accomodating and placed a bottle of champagne in the room also. We were also able to check in early on that Friday. All the rooms were ocean front suites, and we were on the 8th floor and had fanastic views. The beach area was very nice also. Now, on to the not so good. The hotel itself was not very clean. The elevators looked like they needed vacuuming and the pool area looked dirty. We had lunch at the restaurant that Friday when we arrived and service was horrible. Wait staff basically ignored us for 20 minutes. The order was wrong, however, the one plate was comped. The outdoor Tiki bar was not open even though the weather was awesome. And one would think that if you paid the price for rooms that beach chairs would be made available. You had to rent them. On Saturday, we rented two chairs and umbrella. Umbrella was taken up less than an hour later due to wind and we were advised that we would not be charged for the day, however, at checkout we were charged. But the most important aspect was they did not offer coffee in the mornings in the lobby. Every hotel or resort in the world offers coffee in mornings.

Perfect location and the room with 2 bathrooms is convenient.

Every suite has an amazing beachfront view. Great restaurant onsite.

Pull out couch was completely broken we slept on the floor and owner refused to give a refund of any kind we won't be back :(

I've been coming here since 1990s and it will always be like home. Fabulous staff and beautiful views and rooms!

Nice beachfront property and every room has a great beach view. Beautiful big open sandy beach for walking and relaxing. Restaurant breakfast is really good too!

The water in the shower and faucet smelled of sulphur. Overall outdated and not the cleanest

Nice place with beautiful rooms and grounds. At the end of the island overlooking figure 8 island. Great for Shell hunters.

⸻ We had a wonderful stay at Shell Island Resort! The location is unbeatable—peaceful, quiet, and right on the beach with breathtaking views. The front desk staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly, both at check-in and check-out, which made us feel right at home. The on-site restaurant was a pleasant surprise with delicious food and great service, though we were a little disappointed it was closed on Monday. Our room was clean and comfortable, and waking up to the ocean view each morning was a real treat. Overall, a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting—we’ll definitely be back! ⸻

This hotel is the last building on the street, so it's surrounded on three sides by beach and the beautiful green landscape around the inlet. It's a slightly quieter end of the beach and gets quieter still as you follow it north, which was great for peaceful early morning walks. The hotel itself is showing its age with some rough edges (our bed creaked loudly at the slightest movement), so not the most pristine option in the area, but the views more than made up for it for us. The restaurant is also pretty basic but affordable, and the staff were all friendly. The indoor and outdoor pools were nice as well.
