We have stayed in the Castle Hotel for three nights now and it has been getting better each time we stay … The refurbishment work looks nearly finished and the parts that have been opened already are a feast for the eyes … The bed is really comfortable and the feel for the room is cozy and warm with plenty of space … The only critique we have was about the breakfast considering the cost. The food was only tepid and the toaster didn’t toast (A Commercial Toaster is Required) …

Excellent hotel, excellent location, no lift in our section of the property. There was construction going on so not everything was available, but we personally did not lack anything. I am sure the hotel will be even more beautiful when finished.

Who in their right mind chose to renovate this establishment during the height of the tourist season? A complete mess of building materials, noise, contractors having breaks across the footpath, no access through hotel stairs navigated to reception with bags and out into the “annex.” The walls and floors are paper thin, the carpets stained, upholstery a mess. The restaurant and bar closed for renovation. I came here to scout for one of my frequent business trips bringing overseas visitors to the UK. I stayed in three hotels in the high street - I certainly will not be using this one. It may look very nice in the main building, when eventually finished, but sending a warning notice of refurbishment and extensive building work 10 days before arrival is not good practice and frankly as shabby as your annex rooms!

Phenomenal place to stay. We were in the mews in one of the newly renovated rooms, and it was so beautifully out together. Very clean, great staff, and if we needed anything we had it within minutes. We had our 4 year old with us too, and there is a great park & playground behind the hotel which was a big plus. Highly recommend! The only next best thing would be to have somewhere to hang your towel within reach of the tub. That’s the only set back, if you have bad knees or can’t bend over easily, it would be too tough to grab your towel after a shower / bath. But that is a very minor missing item. Overall, I would definitely come back.

The hotel was undergoing renovations so the dining room etc was not available. There were alternative places to eat, but not what the hotel is known for an the property was not attractive with the work going on. The entrance from High Street was not available by car. The room itself was so small, dark, with low ceilings. One of the most disappointing we have ever stayed in. The hallways are very narrow- again with low ceilings. There should be FULL CISCLOSURE on the websit about the work going on- we had paid in full otherwise we would have selected another hotel. Very disingenuous. Also, surely there should be a discounted stay during a time when there is construction as the hotel was not inexpensive.We would not recommend.

The hotel is undergoing a massive restoration project and the main hotel and restaurant are closed. We booked and prepaid for a Deluxe Junior Suite with a Windsor view and, upon arrival, learned those rooms were unavailable due to construction. We were put in a quite snug room above the car park wing. Not at all what we expected. The reception attendant on duty was still on training and could offer no assistance. Fortunately, the next day, the Guest Relations Manager apologized for their oversight in failing to alert us that the reserved room would be unavailable for our stay and for their other service shortcomings. As recompense for a rather uncomfortable night, they comp’d the room refunding all expenses. Since they did the right thing, we will gladly stay with them our next visit to Windsor and look forward to it. We will, however, never again book accommodations through Expedia, which completely exacerbated the problem.

Hotel was undergoing renovations when we stayed, but that didn't impact is at all. Great location, rooms are clean and large, staff was really helpful. Not handicap accessible, as there were several small flights of stairs, which is common in Europe.

I stayed while the hotel was undergoing renovation (the restaurant). It was nevertheless quiet, I had an excellent salad and delicious breads with room service, the staff was very warm and friendly and went out of their ways to help. They even allowed me to check in hours early! The bed was very comfortable and the air conditioning very strong (could be adjusted in the room exactly to my liking) while it was very hot outside in July. Excellent! Highly recommend the lovely Castle Hotel and will stay again. Thank you!

A great hotel very well located for the castle 100m walk distance

Good location, but no elevator.

Even though going through renovations - rooms were large , staff was extremely helpful and adjustments made to our reservation were upgraded to accommodate the renovations- perfectly located across from castle, shopping and restaurants.

From Dave who took our bags, to the cheerful, efficient desk staffer, to the beautifully appointed facilities, this was a great stay. And it was the perfect waking distance from the castle.

Even though this property was under a little bit of construction it didn’t bother us a bit. The hotel itself is absolutely charming, and the staff were ridiculously welcoming and kind willing to help us with anything we needed to make our time there more comfortable. It’s right in the heart of town and within walking distance to the castle, food and shopping. This is a great find and reasonably priced for the standard of room and service! Highly recommend!

The staff was overly helpful and friendly. We felt very welcomed. Very nice amenities in the room: selection of drinks, soaps and lotion, cookies. Great location across from the castle. Remodeling was taking place during our visit. It was not disruptive, just needed to use alternative entry to the hotel.

The staff at this hotel are above exceptional. We ran into an issue while traveling and the staff were exceedingly helpful. I am so grateful to each of them for their assistance and concern. I most highly recommend this hotel.

Staff were very professional.. Locstion was great, couldn’t ask for anything more.. Will definately stay at the Castle Hotel Windsor anytime we travel to Windsor.

We have had an amazing stay in the beautiful hotel right in the heart of Windsor. Very very pleasant staff. Lovely decor and surroundings. Comfy beds. Will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay here, even with the construction the hotel is doing. Our room was comfortable and clean, with welcoming free beverages, snacks, coffee and tea. Beds were extremely comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful and kind. We were within easy walking distance to the train station, shops, and pubs.
