Very pleasant staff. Brilliant breakfast.

nice stay breakfast disappointed

Stayed one night as a base to see York, which is about 40 minutes stroll away. Good functional chain hotel, everything works but no character. The food was good but the beer choice was very limited.

Very friendly staff. Rooms nice, beds really comfortable. Lovely breakfast area and lounge. Two pubs across the road as a change for evening meals as only booked B&B. We were there on a very hot week but had aircon in rooms. Large free car park which is a bonus round York. Bus services along the main road are frequent. No4 from outside Cross Keys pub takes you into centre which is only 1 and half miles. Would definitely stay again if visiting York.

Nice room friendly staff.

This is supposed to be a 4 star hotel. I've stayed in cleaner 2 star hotels that deserved more. The room was old and tired looking. Under the bed wasn't clean(I discovered this when I picked up something I dropped). The air con only worked intermittently, and the window could not be opened. It was also noisy, especially at night. It sounded like footsteps and doors echoing in a stairwell. The options on the menus were extremely limited for someone who has specific dietary requirements. If you had more than soya milk as a milk substitute, I may have had breakfast there. I will not be using Holiday Inn anywhere again.

Such a handy hotel with excellent provision for breakfast, although the new coffee machines seem a bit slow!

Great friendly staff. Room and hotel clean and welcoming

A very nice stay. The hotel is a mile from the park and ride which was cheap and very efficient. The only issue we had was evening meals Poor menu, too much spicy on it. While breakfast was good evening meal was very average and poor choice unless you like spicy food

Great staff lovely refurbishment on reception anf bar area. Rooms could do with updating.

The bed was torn on the corner and had some sort of stain on the divan base the general condition of the room looked tired I thought I might have got something better for my £135

Hotel fine, night manager zero common sense and competence.

It’s convenient to York, but a bit tired, could be doing with a face lift,

Not clean. Run down. The bathroom in particular was not well cleaned. The corners of the shower had pink slime, the tile was moldy in spots. The door frame around the bathroom door had a large bkack smudge.
