Good Hotel from Holiday Inns as you would expect from them. However a parking charge of £12.00 a day is in my opinion excessive so will not be staying at this hotel again when visiting Basildon

Stayed at the Holiday Inn Basildon while attending a wedding at Cromwell Manor, which was only about a 10-minute drive away, making it a really convenient location. The hotel has a large car park, the rooms were clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning was a big plus. Breakfast was decent with a good selection, and all the staff we met were friendly and welcoming. The only downside was that the corridor had a bit of an unpleasant smell, but thankfully it didn’t affect the room itself. Overall, it was a comfortable stay and I’d happily stay here again.

Good hotel just a shame you have to pay £12 for parking

Our stay was all good, apart from having to £12 to park the car overnight in their car park? Which I though was odd considering we was paying to stay in hotel...

I visited during the most recent heatwave. It was 35 degrees outside but the room was well prepared with the air conditioning on full blast which was a relief. I noticed that I didn't have any towels but this was quickly rectified and I was issued a drink voucher as compensation which was a nice touch. The room was mostly clean, the bins were emptied and the carpet looked hoovered. There was a bit of dust here (maybe due to the A/C?) and a bug or two there but nothing major.

Stayed during the heat wave. AC was not working. Room was hotter than outside. Was very disappointed.

Expected more from Holiday Inn. Hotel is very tired looking and needs a re-furb not just pretty paintings on the wall. There is a parking charge of £12 which I think is ridiculous-there is nowhere else to park your car so you have no choice. I expect it for City parking but this is Basildon!!! I booked thru Expedia and was advised breakfast included but apparently it was not. So far I’ve booked thru Expedia 3 times and twice I’ve been disappointed. Expedia you need to get your act together. Personally, I will book thru the hotel in future. I will say tho that the room was very clean and spacious and a nice big TV that we were able to watch the football. We didn’t have enough towels and Housekeeping brought us some extra within 3 mins. We had a long drive (4 1/2 hours) for a funeral and just wanted a nice place to relax and eat without incurring any extra costs so we are left disappointed. Wish we had chosen a different nearby chain-might not have been much better but it would’ve been a whole lot cheaper.

Lovely hotel with helpful and polite staff, food was menu was excellent and nice.

Oh I I come with my 2 year old boy fo weekend stays as I love the hotel staff location etc but I had an adult stay I had people in the next room banging all night loud tv and all sorts of horrible noises all night untill 4-5 am my baby was finding it hard to sleep also, I didn’t go to reception as I had my 2 year old with me and didn’t want to cause any situations, very upset it totally ruined my weekend with my son

We had a lovely time staff was so helpful and the wheelchair accessibility was better than some hotels only problem no lift so my partner had to sit on her own for breakfast but staff was so helpful as I went upstairs for breakfast buffet we would definitely book here again if ever down basildon

Excellent hotel and I will definitely be staying there again. All the staff were helpful. The receptionists were really welcoming and helpful particularly Karen and Claire. We Used room service and had a really polite and helpful young man called Kallum who was patient with me when I got a bit flustered. Also Simone was a happy cheerful face in the morning, she made you feel like you were a regular by greeting you so warmly. The facilities were excellent, everywhere was clean and the room we had was lovely. Nice clean bathroom and really comfortable beds. The hotel definitely deserves the 5 stars and I highly recommend it.

The room was great, one of the best holiday Inns I have stayed at. The cleaning staff and reception staff were really helpful and overall I enjoyed my stay. The only downsides I would say are that the bathroom is a little dated compared to the rest of the room and parking was a bit expensive.

Clean and tidy room. Bar was a bit loud and busy.

Good. But cleaner promised to change bedsheets when told but it wasn't changed.

Breakfast was great, good location and friendly staff.

Great hotel, staff super helpful and friendly. Bed super comfy. Breakfast delicious.
