I booked a non-smoking room, but I could smell cigarette smoke coming from somewhere. When I complained to the receptionist, she gave me a curt response and sent a staff member to spray air freshener. The next day, I complained again and was moved to a room on another floor.

I am trying to be objective, but this is the ONLY hotel that I decided to cancel with no refund on balance nights after 1 stay. 1. Check-In It's rather awful with such unfriendly staff (Indian chap I think) who insists that I paid additional person for my young daughter being 3 occupants. I have informed no bed, no breakfast is required but he insisted so strongly or I cannot stay there. Fine, I still paid. I asked and was told given room near to lift. Lo & behold, the room was way way at the back after turning left 2 x. Its a wraparound kind of floor. Needless to say, I called for change of room whereby he asked me oh yes come on down and I will give you room opposite the lift. Why not do it on 1st check in when I told him its ladies occupants with young daughters so I need room near to lift. 2. Room First room given gave 'supernatural' feel unfortunately that's the only way I can describe it. Yes its huge. sitting room, bedroom and long dimmed corridor leading to bathroom and hander room. Curtain dark dingy, chair collapsed in middle. Beds are ok. Sheets are clean. The real problem remains that its an old, old hotel. I thought 2nd room will be better but its the same. No supernatural feel but still old, dingy reminiscent of 70s motel room. 3. Staff Except for the check in area, the other staff manning the lift and restaurant are very very nice. 4. Facility I only dared to try the top floor outdoor viewing area that goes around. Yes the view is impressive but like looking out the prison cage :). To go up there you will need take staircase 2 storeys. Oh and btw, if you carry huge luggage, good luck to you lugging it up and down the stairs from street level to lift level. And no the hotel staff will not help with the short staircase carry. This hotel needs a demolishment! If I can I will give 0 but I reserve 1 star for all the lovely staff at restaurant. Look I am forgiving had my fair share 3star hotels, motel, hostel but this takes the cake. I lost my 3 nights stay but so much easier nights on another hotel at cheaper price!

The hotel misled customers. I had booked a room with one large bed well in advance, but when I arrived, they said the room was no longer available. Instead, they pushed two single beds together without my consent, resulting in a very poor experience.

The staff provided excellent service; they were enthusiastic and attentive.

The actual location is good, it's close to everywhere, but the traffic jam can take almost 30 minutes just to get around the area to the main road.

Every time I go to Bangkok, I always stay at Baiyoke Sky. It's very strategic, just go down the stairs and you're in front of the Pratunam morning market and night market. On the left side, there are also many massage places and 7-Eleven. The breakfast menu is also delicious, the service is also friendly, and the room is clean. Every day, 4 bottles of drinking water are added.

Have a great city sky view access.
