This hotel is a gem and one of the highlights of our trip! The location is simply gorgeous, and the drive along the Sky Road to get there was particularly memorable, with incredible ocean views. The castle is beautiful and full of history. The owner does a fantastic job of sharing some of it every evening during a free get-together with drinks. The staff shows great attention to detail, high-quality standards, and an incredible culture of fun and care that we have not seen anywhere else. Brian, the owner, also made the evening stand out with an incredible dinner atmosphere followed by delightful conversations on the patio at sunset with a group of customers. It is such a unique, elegant, fun, and welcoming hotel. We will be back!

A beautiful site and cozy look. The rooms aren’t very special for the cost. The room was HOT. 23-24 all night long. I asked if the temperature could be fixed/ cooler. All heat is off was the reply, I requested another room fan late day 1 of our stay and again early Day 2. Upon departure when leaving, I said to reception that something needed to be done to fix the extreme heat and the manager came, apologized profusely, even carried my bag out… but communication from reception to the boss made for a miserable stay. 24 degrees all night is poor for your health.

Looked after us. Enjoyed the prosecco and history talks. Breakfast was excellent. Shower didn't run well and needed a shelf in the bathroom.

My wife and I had a spectacular time. Dinner Wes excellent and the staff was extremely professional. We even had unexpected entertainment at dinner that made the night.

Clifden, Abbeyglen castle and this part of the west coast of Ireland are absolutely stunning. Don’t miss the Prosecco Welcome and the hotel owners talk on the history of the local area and Abbeyglen Castle itself. It was absolutely fascinating, occasionally humorous and brought everything to life. The owner remembered our names from the moment we were introduced. Very rare! I’ve travelled globally for business 2 out of 4 weeks for the past 15 years. I’ve stayed in some fantastic hotels around the world. Our stay at Abbeyglen castle was the most personal and best customer experience I’ve had anywhere.

The hotel was incredibly charming! The rooms are comfortable and clean and the staff were beyond friendly and helpful. The breakfast was delicious. My partner and I both said we’ll return for a longer stay next time!

The whole place was awesome. A great view, friendly staff, an awesome room and bathroom, great dinner and breakfast! I would definitely stay there again!

A beautiful venue. I loved my room which had a canopied bed, large bathroom, and plenty of space. The staff was very friendly. Dinner was relaxed. I felt pampered and calmed being there.

We stayed 2 nights. It is very lovely. The Breakfast was fabulous. Its an hour past Galway.

Loved my stay here at Abbeyglen. Was fortunate enough to hear the history of the town as well as meet the owner. Only wish I had more time to stay at the castle. Food was amazing and the entire staff was very welcoming and accommodating.

Staff were nice, beds very comfortable and the brook outside the window made sleeping a dream. Could do with some updates here and there but otherwise a lovely stay.

Staff is wonderful. Prosecco story time is always fun!
