Clean, great staff, food was a little hit and miss

This property is wonderful. Staff is so nice. We extended our trip just because we liked it so much. The golf is incredible if you’re a golfer.

The room was ok but nothing special flow of water ok body wash shampoo conditioner was all locked down you could barley move them

Second time staying at the Carnoustie Golf Hotel and Will definitely be back. Staff are very friendly, patient & professional. Cheryl welcomed us and was really helpful throughout our stay. Good, big, room with lovely views over the golf course. Breakfast is one of the best I've had. All cooked to order, rather than the usual lukewarm buffet. Look forward to returning soon.

I loved the location and have been many times. Didn’t like having to get breakfast coffee from a machine and make my own toast. The staff were excellent and very helpful.

I've stayed at Carnoustie Golf and Spa Hotel twice in as many months. Sadly i wasnt able to use the spa as my trips have been for work but the views are outstanding- each time I've stayed in a room with a view of the course. The third floor is a bit tired now and lacked a full length mirror but was very spacuous. The second floor with the renovated bathrooms and new carpets has made a huge difference, having stayed where they've yet to upgrade. Love the Highland Soap Company toiletries, the Nespresso machine and having an iron & ironing board is always welcome. The beds are very comfortable and you'll not want to get up in the morning - once you get to sleep (see below). Staff were mostly welcoming and helpful, the breakfast staff in particular are amongst the warmest people I've met. What I didnt like: room service - you need to ask for a menu at reception - that you'll need to phone for on your mobile phone because the telephone didn't work in either of my rooms. And if you're going to add some leaves / side salad to a plate, please add some dressing. But my biggest dislike: hearing people talk, snore, their TV in the room either side of me!! The walls clearly have no soundproofing whatsoever which was really disappointing and is probably why I wouldnt stay again - sleep is important.

We loved our stay at this hotel. The staff at reception were very welcoming & friendly. Our room was comfortable & the leisure area was perfect for us.

Awful experience in the restaurant at dinner. Terrible service and terrible dinner! Different story at breakfast, great service and lovely breakfast. But definitely won't be back!

The hotel was fine but the restaurant was pure Fawlty Towers. Drinks ordered but not delivered, staff undertrained, food late and cold, portions small, plates not cleared, no sense of organisation anywhere. Maybe it was just a bad night but there should be no excuses really. Three stars for hotel quality only, but restaurant really needs to up it game.

Room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Overall a very pleasant stay. Bar area and outdoor seating needs either more staff or industrious staff to keep clean, tidy and inviting.

Fantastic hotel. While a golf hotel we loved staying here so we could walk a links course and enjoy the beach. Our Junior Suite overlooked the first tee and the 18th green. We could watch golfers from 7 am to 10pm. Food was great. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful.

At time of booking we asked for room near elevator as one guest v elderly and disabled. No-one responded. I checked again upon actual check in and was assured we’d be in room closest to elevator. In actual fact we were 2nd last room furthest from elevator and 10-12 rooms in between us they could have offered. Was also told at 2pm that we were too early for room, but that they let us know when it was free. They did not let us know. Rooms decent but v basic. Think 3 star at best. Pool area quite busy as seems to be locals facility too. As a result we chose not to use. We opted for the DBB option, but be aware you will struggle to get 2 courses for the dinner allowance. Reasonable value nonetheless. On check out no receipt as yet sent to us with charges. Overall ok, but could probably do with upskilling the staff.

Great location. Near beach and golf course. Very helpful and friendly staff. Nice comfortable surroundings. Large bedroom, clean and comfortable bed. Good choice of tea/coffee.

Excellent staff, good food - no complaints!

The staff were very friendly and helpful and food excellent. Only problem we had was room 141 was very dark due to the fact there was not enough lighting in room. My friend has eyesight problems and was really struggling
