Oh dear. Where to start? The whole edifice needs to be torn down & rebuilt. There are so many issues with this hotel, due to its great age, that the management have smoothed over for decades. Uneven flooring in the rooms, cracked hand basins in the bathrooms, poor quality beds, worn out linen, single glazing everywhere, condensation in the rooms. I understand that due to the age of the building a lift cannot be installed. Also there are notices all around the public areas advising guests that a gratuity will be added to your bill on checkout, but no mention of the %! When I asked the receptionist what the rate was she was unsure! Surety we should be entitled to know what we are to be charged? You can opt out of this payment, which I did as the could not tell me how much I would be expected to pay. For guests with mobility difficulties I would avoid this hotel. As I referenced, there is no lift but plenty of steps, to request a room on the ground floor involved a trek outside across an uneven gravel path to annex at the back of hotel. On the plus side, the staff do a great job with very little. The breakfast is wonderful. The bar could be better stocked with more variety.

Good enough for the price. I came to see the Olympic room, which is furnished with panelling, windows and other artifacts from Titanic's sister ship. Breakfast was excellent. The staff were very helpful arranging a taxi when Uber fell through.

I find stairs very difficult and we were on the third floor. NOT much fun. as most of the other visitors were as old is not older than me I guess i was not the only one. They were unable to offer a change of room as they said they were full. However we never saw another soul on the corridor we were in and linen outside the door of two rooms remained there for the whole of our stay, we don't think we had any neighbours! It can't be easy in a listed building that cannot have lifts. the walk in showe was wonderful The staff looked after us very well and despite the large numbers of dinner guests the food was very good. great menu choice and hot. I needed ice for my Champagne picnic and they gave me lots without question. we would, without question, stay again.

Great location in centre of town. Lovely atmosphere and all staff very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms /bathrooms a little dated but spotlessly clean and bedding/towels of good quality. Would certainly stay again.

Alnwick is navigable on foot, and The White Swan was centrally located. Breakfast was cheerfully presented and the staff went out of their way to help me make a connection at the Almouth rail station two miles away.

Beautiful hotel and the Olympic suite is just an amazing part of history. The hotel needs to promote this more! Ideal location, very friendly staff, great food as well.

Another great stay at the White Swan, Staff were all friendly and helpful. Having breakfast in the Olympic Room (from the Titanic's sister ship) is always a treat.

Great location. Very old building so lots of character and wonky floors. Great value for money.

Clean room, excellent helpful staff. Evening meal was really nice. Had a issue with the bath flooding the lounge area below however a plumber was quickly brought in. So sorry for the damage that was caused 😞

Classic room bed could do with a topper. Pillows very soft. Didnt feel extractor fan working properly. Had a lot of difficulty shutting the window. Shower pressure not the best bit nice to have a decent sized walk in. Walls between rooms very thin. Generally everything was clean. Nice biscuits. Checkin out was great. Easy parking. Would have liked plug sockets next to the bed rather than behind Loved the lions book shop on site. Olympic room for breakfast was stunning but very cold first thing. Breakfast decent quality but not enough choice from a continental perspective. Juices not great quality . Black pudding nice touch but no hash browns/fried potatoes. Mushrooms cooked well.

Great hotel very handy for the Playhouse theatre as just a short walk away! Staff all very friendly and helpful. Spacious room with lots of extras i.e tissues , and ample teas and coffees and biscuits which seem to have disappeared from the bigger chain hotels Breakfast plenty of choice including the hot foods, Will definitely stay again
