Stayed for a couple of nights a few days before Christmas, so we could shop and experience the Christmas vibe of Canterbury. Hotel is in the heart of the town which is great.Staff were friendly and welcoming. My only disappointment was that they took a card on arrival, this was in case I charged anything to the room, £100 was taken, nothing was charged to the room. I called two weeks later to ask why this wasn’t returned, they said it could take up to a month. Exactly 1 month later the £100 was put back into my account! Mmmmmmm We will definitely stay again, will likely say that I don’t have a card.

Had to move rooms as the toilet didn't work, staff weren't overly fussed , moved to the second room to find black mould on the walls and around the window. Breakfast was overly expensive for poor quality and slow service.

Very nice hotel with an excellent position in the town. Good combination of new and traditional decor. Nice room but the bathroom was a little “cosy” but adequate. The breakfast was very tasty but as everything was table served it was a little slower than weer used too. Definitely use again.

The hotel was good vaue for money, centrally placed and we had a quiet room at the back. Good that the window opened. Staff were helpful and mailed some property left in the room in error. A good experience and we would not hesitate to return and to recomment to others.

Nice stay, great location. Room was a bit tired, hence reason for lower review. Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was good.

We had stayed at the abode hotel on the 21st and was amazed by the welcoming at the front desk to then opening the door to our bedroom and being amazed by the style of the room very comfy and well furnished

Very nice hotel. I stay there quite regularly during the university term. Staff are very friendly and the area is of course the nicest part of Canterbury. Highly recommend the hotel.

Pleasant hotel, rooms are pretty standard, nothing different from other hotels. It was clean and had a decent amount of space. The bar was nice and busy, but not too packed. It’s a great location, but I’d steer clear of driving here as the car park is tiny and was packed, so we had a lot of trouble trying to find somewhere that wasn’t an excessive price to park overnight.

We checked in and went straight to our room which was set up for one person ( one large and small towel) tea for one, one bag of biscuits ete). We are a party ot two. This was rectified whilst we were out. We came back later went to the bar, and was told no lager on draft as something wrong with system and would probably be like that all weekend. The next morning we went to breakfast, ordered tea and coffee, waited 15 minutes and chased it up to be told by the waiter that he had forgotten to put the order through on the system. We then ordered breakfast with the option of poached eggs. When this arrived with others orders that had ordered after use, the eggs resembled hard boiled, the yoke was nit runny or soft. My husband said his full English tasted and looked as though it had been heated up. We then went back to our room and could not get in as both keys did not work, so back downstairs to sort that. The following day, breakfast again. Tea and coffee again turned up after chasing it, but only after receiving our food first and asking where the drinks were. We received our food after 35 minutes wait. My husband was asked if he wanted sauces, he said yes, they never came. Eggs were better though. We the went back to the room to pack and leave for checking out at 11am. Again both keys were not working. I went to reception, gave my details and had to be booked back in as apparently I had already checked out. No apology, just sorted one of the keys. Could not wait to leave!

The location is PERFECT! We were right in the middle of everything surrounded by restaurants, pubs and shopping. The cathedral was less than a 10 minute walk away. Our room was a large size considering we were in Europe. I can't think of any better place to stay while visiting Canterbury.
